Update
Start: April 4, 2008
End: January 1, 2011

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

'Cause I just set them up/ Just set them up/ Just set them up to knock them down
Nice legs, Daisy Dukes,
Makes a man go (whistles),
That's the way they all come through like (whistles),
Low-cut, see-through shirts that make ya (whistles),
That's the way she come through like (whistles),

'Cause I just set them up,
Just set them up,
Just set them up to knock them down,
'Cause I just set them up,
Just set them up,
Just set them up to knock them down

I think I should know how to make love to something innocent without leaving my fingerprints out,
Now,
L-o-v-e's just another word I never learned to pronounce,
How do I say I'm sorry 'cause the word is just never gonna come out,
Now,
L-o-v-e's just another word I never learned to pronounce

Tight jeans, double d's makin' me go (whistles),
All the people on the street know (whistles),
Iced out, lit-up make the kids go (whistles),
All the people on the street know (whistles),

'Cause I just set them up,
Just set them up,
Just set them up to knock them down,
'Cause I just set them up,
Just set them up,
Just set them up to knock them down

I think I should know how to make love to something innocent without leaving my fingerprints out,
Now,
L-o-v-e's just another word I never learned to pronounce,
How do I say I'm sorry 'cause the word is just never gonna come out,
Now,
L-o-v-e's just another word I never learned to pronounce

Push it baby, push it baby,
Out of control,
I got my gun cocked tight and I'm ready to blow,
Push it baby, push it baby,
Out of control,
This is the same old dance that you already know,
Push it baby, push it baby,
Out of control,
I got my gun cocked tight and I'm ready to blow,
Push it baby, push it baby,
Out of control,
This is the same old dance that you already know

I think I should know how to make love to something innocent without leaving my fingerprints out,
Now,
L-o-v-e's just another word I never learned to pronounce

:: Music: Gossip- Heavy Cross

We can play it safe, or play it cool/ Follow the leader, or make up all the rules/ Whatever you want, the choice is yours/ So choose...
Last night I found myself begging Paul to agree to move out of state.
I'm feeling restless again.... it's time to make a change.

:: Music: The Killers- Read My Mind

I never really gave up on/ Breakin' out of this two-star town./ I got the green light/ I got a little fight/ I'm gonna turn this thing around.
on the corner of main street
just tryin' to keep it in line
you say you wanna move on and
you say I'm falling behind

can you read my mind?
can you read my mind?

I never really gave up on
breakin' out of this two-star town
I got the green light
I got a little fight
I'm gonna turn this thing around

can you read my mind?
can you read my mind?

The good old days
the honest man
the restless heart
the promised land
a subtle kiss
that no one sees
a broken wrist
and a big trapeze

Oh well I don't mind
if you don't mind
coz I don't shine
if you don't shine
before you go

can you read my mind?

it's funny how you just break down
waitin' on some sign
I pull up to the front of your driveway
with magic soakin' my spine

can you read my mind?
can you read my mind?

The teenage queen
the loaded gun
the drop dead dream
the chosen one
a southern drawl
a world unseen
a city wall
and a trampoline

Oh well I don't mind
if you don't mind
coz I don't shine
if you don't shine
before you jump
tell me what you find
when you read my mind

Slippin in my faith
until I fall
He never returned that call
woman, open the door
don't let it sting
I wanna breathe that fire again

She said
I don't mind
if you don't mind
coz I don't shine
if you don't shine
put your back on me
put your back on me
put your back on me

The stars are blazing
like rebel diamonds
cut out of the sun
can you read my mind?

Oh, girl what are you thinking
I'm thinking that we
Should stick together
I reckon that we
Should follow our hearts

Let's stick together
Let's follow our hearts
Not even lions can tear us apart

i'm not gone.
Let's get a silver bullet trailer and have a baby boy,
I'll safety pin his clothes all cool and you'll graffiti up his toys.
I've got a perfect body, but sometimes I forget,
I've got a perfect body, 'cause my eyelashes catch my sweat.

:: Music: Death Cab for Cutie- Little Bribes

You said this city has a beating heart/ That pushes people down the blvd/ They're all hoping for a wish fulfilled/ In a desert for a dollar bill/ Those foolish dreams, you know they plague me still
The Eiffel Tower built to smaller scale
The freshest oxygen I'd ever inhale
I tapped a bottle against the safety rail killing time

And you were like a walking compliment
Tall in stature and exceptionally read
In dummy glasses and a cardigan
Oh, come on

And oh so empty were the faces of the dealers and the waitresses around

You said that all these things you've learned to ignore
The hidden cameras on the casino floor
And what gets paid for behind hotel doors
Oh, come on

Pretend every slot machine is a robot amputee waving hello
The people stare into their eyes
And they feed them little bribes and then they go

The never-ending twilight
In a basement where the sun has never spilt
You said that you were lonely
And then we kissed like lonely people do

You said this city has a beating heart
That pushes people down the boulevard
And they're all hoping for a wish fulfilled
In a desert for a dollar bill
Those foolish dreams, you know they plague me still
Oh, come on

And oh so empty were the faces of the dealers and the waitresses around
And oh so empty were the faces of the dealers and the waitresses around

:: Music: The Limousines- Very Busy People

And when we're done sleeping/ we'll stay busy dreaming/ of the things we don't have yet...
we'll end up numb
from playing video games
and we'll get sick
of having sex

and we'll get fat
from eating candy
as we drink ourselves
to death,

we'll stay up late
making mix tapes
photoshopping pictures
of ourselves

while we masturbate
to these pixelated
videos of strangers
fucking themselves

we are very busy people
we are very busy people

there's crusty socks
and stacks of pizza boxes
making trails straight
to the bed

and when we're done
sleeping we'll stay busy
dreaming of the things
we don't have yet

well there's a long
long list of chores
and shit to do before
we play, oh let's just
piss away the day

crank call the cops
down at the station
just for friendly
conversation requesting
songs they never play

let's hear the one
that goes like
we are very busy people
but we've always got
time for new friends

so come on over and
knock on our door
it's open, what's ya
waiting for

we might be spawled
out on the floor
but we still make
lovely company

pull up a chair
i'll pour some tea
we'll shoot the shit
'bout everything
til you get sick
of politics and
flip on the tv screen
we stare at the tv screen

that donnie darko DVD
has been repeating for
a week and we know every
single word

i've got an ipod
like a pirate ship
i'll sail the seas
with fifty thousand
songs i've never heard
all the best of them
go fa la la la la la la la...

:: Music: Dashboard Confessional- The Swiss Army Romance

Making up a history, it's nothing from the life you lead/ But man, will they buy all your lines...
Sleep with all the lights on. You're not so happy. You're not secure.
You're dying to look cute in your blue jeans, but you're plastic just like everyone.
You're just like everyone.
And that face you paint is pressed impressing most of us as permanent and I'd like to see you undone.
College night will draw the crowds. Dorms unload and you're heading out.
Here is your moment to shine. Making up a history.
It has nothing from the life you lead.
But man, will they buy all your lines.
Sleep with all the sheets off your bearing your mattress, bearing your soul.
And you're dying to look smooth with your tattoos but you're searching just like everyone and could be anyone.
And those friends you have are the best impressing most of us as permanent and I'd like to see you undone.
Youth's the most unfaithful mistress.
Still we forge ahead to miss her.
Rushing our moment to shine.
Making up a history, it's nothing from the life you lead but man, will they buy all your lines.

We're not twenty-one, but the sooner we are, the sooner the fun will begin.
So get out your fake eyelashes, and fake I.D's, and real disasters ensue.
It's cool to take these chances. It's cool to fake romances and grow up fast.

:: Music: Ingrid Michaelson- The Way I Am

If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match.

Cause I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.

If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I'll make it better.

Cause I love the way you call me baby.
And you take me the way I am.

I'd buy you Rogaine if you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.

Cause I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.

"Here's the thing, Barney: I'm snuggly. You're not. Who wouldn't want to snuggle up next to this business on a Sunday morning? Wrapped in a comforter, and its raining outsode, and there's muffins warming in the oven... I'm cuddly, bitch! Deal with it!"

"We threw them away."
"WHAT?!?"
"That's how an intervention works, Marshall... You wouldn't stop using, so we flushed your stash."
"C'mon, Ted... I need my charts, man! Just for a day... and then I promise I'll never ever use charts again! I'm under a lot of pressure here, I NEED MY CHARTS, JACK!"

:: Music: Kings of Leon- Use Somebody

off in the night/ while you live it up/ i'm off to sleep...
i've been roaming around
always looking down at all i see
painted faces fill the places i can't reach

you know that i could use somebody
you know that i could use somebody
someone like you

and all you know
and how you speak
countless lovers undercover of the street

you know that i could use somebody
you know that i could use somebody
someone like you

off in the night,
while you live it up, i'm off to sleep
waging war to shake the poet and the beat

i hope it's gonna make you notice
i hope it's gonna make you notice
someone like me
someone like me
someone like me

go and let it out
someone like you
somebody
someone like you
somebody
someone like you
somebody

i've been roaming around
always looking down at all i see

Go ahead, you can laugh all you want.
