| Today We went hiking! O joy! We went in the mountains. For over half of the trail it was up the mountain and it was steep! There was no paved trails just dirt. rocks, and horse poo. EEEK! We came across a rapid river. U know how we had to cross that river? By walking across on a log, that's how! I was a lil scared. Ginny(my friend that I am w/) went first and made it, Chris (her dad) slipped but caught himself. Whew! Susie (her mom) made it too. When we were hiking for an hour and a half we realized that the rocky trail was gonna be vertical until the other side of the mountain, but we didn't know when that would be. So Ginny said "I quit!". She hated the vertical trail.So when Ginny sat down next to a tree we all did too. We had water and if u peek over the nice deadly cliff u can c a rapid river going down the mountain. Pretty! Ginny wanted to stay there, but Chris and I wanted to go on the vertical trail to c if we can go to the big lake that the trail was supposed to take us to. We left ginny & sue there. so Chris and I were walking up the mountain for about 20 min when we decided to go back to them and have our lil dandy picnic that we packed. When we were eating our "yummy in my tummy" sandwiches it started to snow!!! Now I am in my boardshorts here w/ my independent jacket and mom's windbreaker. I'm getting cold. Chris was in shorts too. Ginny and Sue were all ready for the snow in their jeans and jackets. After we were done eating we headed back to our car which was miles away. It started to snow harder. Not so swell. If u looked to ur left u could c a blizzard coming! I'm like holy crap! We started to hurry, ginny and me.Ginny and I got too ahead from her parents so we had to wait for 'em. Snow getting harder now. I'm in shorts. Not a good mix huh? It wasn't the nice snow that's light in fluffy, o no! It had to be the packed snow w/ moisture in it. Of all the days! Later we came across the big log again. It's covered in wet snow! So I know ur probably thinking how did u get across the cold, freezing, chilling river or maybe u want me to finish this story up faster, w/e. I was ready to slide my bum on the log to the other side but I decided not to b/c it was too cold for my hands. Ginny did it though and so did susie. Chris and I went across the river jumping and hoping on lil rocks that were peaking out. There was no more rocks for me and Chris to get to the land, so I just went in. So picture this, Me in shorts, light jackets, w/ shoes filled w/ 50 or maybe less degree water inside my shoes, in the snow. Holy gosh, diddy-doo-da! I'm freezing, so all I had in mind was gotta go, gotta go, gotta go. We still had to cross lil streams and another river to get closer to the car. I did not stop or slow down, I mostly sped up or stayed at constant speed until I saw that car. Finally, we get to the car w/ the snow down pouring so hard. FINALLY! An hour and 10 minutes later I get hot air on my numb freezing feets! Yes, I said feets, not a typo. when we were in the car Chris said we took the longest and hardest trail that they have! I'm like OK, are we gonna kill him now or later? Susie said both. haha. the trail was 4 miles long. We didn't go all the way. When we were heading back it started to rain b/c we were going lower. U could c like a white explosion happened in the mountains, but of course that's snow. All in all, it was TubuLar fun. Will I do that again? I think not. I'm wiped out! I'm gonna be so sore tomorrow. I biked all yesterday and now this! Ahhh! Ouch tomorrow's! i'm going white water rafting tomorrow.Later! ~*~*~*~*~*AndI~*~*~*~*~ |

tubularchick88 | Whoohoo!, 06-25-03 2:53am Wow! Chick, you can write alot! LOL ! I thought hicking up the Norway trails was hard but I have to say that sounds harder w/ the weather and all! I have had a similar thing happen in WI but I was pretty much dressed properly so I was lucky! Are there Mormons everywhere??? Are you kickin their bum bums yet for having more than one wife??? LOL! Welp, Denmark is calling! L8rz and keep on having fun!!!! XOXO Luv yaz |
