isn't a martyr someone who dies for their cause? so wouldnt "a wounded martyr" be a really ridiculous and redundant phrase? | |

andy | 12-09-03 2:51pm Perhaps. Or maybe a martyr is someone who's WILLING and WOULD die for their cause if the situation arose. But hasn't necessarily died yet. |
andy | 12-09-03 2:54pm The dictionary says pretty much that they just have to endure CONSTANT SUFFERING and/or sacrifice for their cause. Whereas death would be the ultimate sacrifice. |
