Well, just came in from Candlelight, and it all went well... I'm slightly peeved/embarrased by the fact my mom practically owns that show and shows up in half of the acts if some little kid needs a dance partner or someone to hold their music... But I guess it's alright. Everyone seems to love my mom, and I guess I can live without the parents/friends conflict. The film festival was great. That Old One, the short film, kind of jumped around, as a man who woke up at a woman's house tries to explain to his wife that he cheated on her... and he sees like 15 scenarios of what might have happened... I liked the second one, the feature film, "Outpatient". It reminded me a lot of K-Pax in some aspects. There's this writer/borderline psychotic (Morris) who has had a traumatic past, who mixes and incorporates reality and the book he's writing into each other. He consistantly gives his psychiatrist the chapters, and when she figures out he's writing about his life in the story, she realizes that a strange man who is following Morris' love interest, Raven. She tries to figure out if it's something to do with Morris's past, and if Raven is in danger. I really enjoyed it... but I kind of am split between whether the ending was hokey or if it was brilliant, or even 'pretty good'... There was a big revelation that happened like really fast, but if you look back you may have seen it coming. It had me surprised. And three final words: Chemistry's A Bitch. |
