Subject: The cheerful Christmas Season
*sigh* Well, now that my cousins have left, I'm having a really good Christmas. I don't know how they can live with each other, but I guess it takes one to know one. I had to give the drug talk to my 10 year old cousin because he's like, "If i just try one cigarette or joint, it won't hurt me, right?". No wonder they say D.A.R.E isn't working. Wow. There is one thing that sums up pretty much my whole Christmas Eve and Day expirience;Common sense isn't so common.

I love all the presents I got. Beautiful earrings, makeup, travel curling iron, tennis racket, Sims' Expansion packs (hot date and unleashed), hey, guys, they have a cuddle couch...hmmm..that wouldn't be refering to anybody like *cough* matt and laurel *cough*.

I love eggnog and imitation crab.

Oh, and Laurel, my mom flipped out when she found out it was a boy-girl sleepover. It was funny, I told her in the middle of christmas eve dinner at my grandparents, she's like "WHAT!!". I don't think I'll be allowed to a sleepover at your house until i'm 18, lol.

No, Dare doesn't work, becuase anyone who has the brains to check it out knows that marijuana should be legal. Jails and prisons are being overcrowded and we're putting people in for a drug that only harms the user if used responsibly. It's really less harmful to the body then cigarrettes, (In 1995, based on thirty years of scientific research, editors of the British medical journal Lancet concluded that 'the smoking of cannabis, even long term, is not harmful to health.') and far less addictive. Most marijuana users willingly stop use at around age 35 and the syptoms of withdrawal are about the same as withdrawal from caffiene.

Scentists have found that Marijuana has been linked to Alhimerz (sp?) u know the disease where it makes u forget things and u ask questions over and over, u know old people get it. They pretty much go insane, and according to the people that know people can go crazy from it by the age of 17 no matter how healthy you are. A kid that was 17 captian of the track team kept getting lost and couldn't remember who is sister was he didn't recognize anybody. Yea he was crazy it is because of that. and people would be dumb enough to try it then the jails wouldn't be over crouded..would they??

Marijuana has been proven to cause short term memory loss, but it's effects are much less then alcohol. Research shows that the two major risks of excessive marijuana use are: (1) respiratory disease due to smoking and (2) accidental injuries due to impairment.

Honestly, Alzheimer's was never a problem until health care was expanded.

It may sound insensitive, but alzheimer's affects only the elderly. It is the brains way of naturally controling the population of the human race. I don't think that smoking marijuana is really going to matter by the time alzheimer's sets in.

Also, marijuana cannot create the above situation unless one of things becomes a factor:
1. Allergy to the drug.
2. Having the drug laced with another drug.

Although I do not smoke marijuana, I think it should be legalized. The government has done a very good job of using it's coercive force in the public school system to demonize something that is less harmful that it's better known (and legal) cousins, alcohol and cigarettes.

We are paying for people to be in prison when they have not done anything to hurt anyone else. If God didn't put it on the earth then people wouldn't be dumb enough to try it... would they?

Umm, I believe that part of your comment was an oxymoron, "we're putting people in for a drug
that only harms the user if used responsibly", when have you known a junkie that was responsible?

Yes, I know that joints aren't as bad as cigarettes, but also because they are illegal, they cost money. The average american spends around $1000 dollars a year on cigarettes. Do you think a 10 year old kid has that kind of money? I was also talking about things such as x and cocaine. Really, he is only 10, he doesn't even know how to cover his mouth when he coughs, do you think he's in the right frame of mind to decide whether or not he wants to get involved with drugs, or alcohol, when he doesn't even know what they are, and probably can't even light a lighter. When he gets older, he can make the decision for himself, but I believe the best way to live life is without needing drugs, except for food, and maybe prescriptions if they are needed. It's a health thing, it's a money thing. But all in all, people need to know all the facts before making a decision that could wind them up in jail, or screw up their life.

Weed is not bad for you, it does not give you that disease it is strictly genetic. If you don't believe me then roses give you brain cancer.

there are plenty of responsible users of weed, just like there are lots of resposible users of alcohol.
