I am writing an essay on why cars are alive.
Please submit your objections. They would be useful and greatly appreciated. |

cars dont grow. cars dont reproduce. cars dont adapt. cars dont have living cells. they never get that spark of life, just like if one were to combine all the microscopic elements and such that make up a human just right, it still would not be alive.
saying cars are living goes against all logic and common sense. there is an inanimate car sitting in my driveway waiting for me to use it. it is a tool. it is made by humans. dont try to say humans give birth to cars by creating them because 1. a. The emergence and separation of offspring from the body of the mother. b. The act or process of bearing young; parturition: the mare's second birth.
but I think my strongest point is, CARS DONT GROW.

Yeah, the 'cars don't grow' thing is my greatest pitfall, I was glad Kelly or Amanda never came up with it at our lunchroom brawls... I gotta work around it...
Cars can grow. They can become enhanced by humans mantaining them. As I've said before, we have oppressed cars by making them totally rely on humans to preform their basic life functions, e. g. reproduction (although now done almost completely by automated 'female' robotic factory processes), free movement and sensory preseption.
Sure cars adapt. They move when you puch the pedal. That is a response to environmental stimuli.
It can be argued that the whole of a car is, in fact, a single cell, as it contains all of the cells basic functions in large-scale components strewn throughout the organism.
Metabolism is merely the processing of fuels to make the animalian body preform tasks and move. Cars do the same with gasoline fuel and electronic systems supported by the battery and, nowadays, the internal computer.
Cars could, and in fact do respond to stimuli on their own, unaided by humans. We have seen this at work in toy machines, such as furbies or robodogs. We could give these same abilities to cars, developing them over the years until they may move about on their own and process information like any other form of livestock.
And the spark of life? Haven't you ever heard of 'spark plugs'? :D
Perhaps God grants life to those things which are made and are able to support it. If this is true, then we are oppressing them greatly by not providing for them these basic things.
