Subject: Swearing for emphasis. POINT IN BOLD
I just realized that I never listed the books I got in California and Oregon. It was a long time ago but meh. I want to show off.

Most families go on vacation and get souvenirs or something. My family came home with tons of books and three new kites.

Here's what I got:

- An English-Russian/Russian-English dictionary for Ben and Nick. They always were sort of wanting to learn Russian so I thought it'd be a cool thing to do. It has no cover so I'll have to fix it up first.

- A compact Japanese dictionary because I wanted something I could take anywhere.

- Another Japanese dictionary that's mostly kanji. I'll probably get a bigger one anyway.

- Terre des hommes by Saint-Exupéry, the same guy who wrote Le Petit Prince.

- A book for Katie. I hope she thinks it's cool.

- A Japanese workbook thing from the International Christian University or something weird like that. They have a funny way of doing romaji but it's a pretty awesome workbook.

- Kanji flashcards. It's not a book and I didn't get it at a bookstore but they're still pretty awesome. I still hate kanji though.

- Le petit prince. I still have the school's version but I thought I might as well get my own.

- A gigantic French-English/English-French dictionary. It's a damn good one too. It was pretty cheap.

- L'étranger by (Albert) Camus. My mom says Camus is hard enough in English but he's pretty good. She read this book in English.

I also got the best books ever in French. I still can't believe it. I'm still geeked. I got The Golden Compass (Les royaumes du Nord) and The Amber Spyglass (Le miroir d'ambre). Fuck. Yes.

I didn't get The Subtle Knife because it cost too much. But it doesn't matter. The Amber Spyglass is my favorite book in His Dark Materials and I have all three in English anyway.

I started reading Les royaumes du Nord but it's hard. I have to look up almost every other word either in my dictionary or in the English version.

Anyway, that's it. Just some bragging. I never do it and I was delaying it but I couldn't help myself.

This'll be my last update for today. I'm going to the Silver Leaf Renaissance Fair(e) tomorrow and I'm going to try to actually get some sleep since I'm going to have to be ready at 8 (in the morning!).

I love you all.

I've always been under the impression that you shouldn't buy books without covers becuase they might have been reported to the publisher as unsold and destroyed, so the author wasn't actually paid for that copy.

Unless you bought it used, then it's probably fine.
