Subject: Kelly's College Reviews! Yay!
Well, I got back about an hour ago. And now I'm mentally and physically exhausted.

Yesterday I went to University of WI in Madison. And I adored it. I originally thought Madison would be like Ann Arbor on steroids. But I was wrong, I was wrong. Madison is like Ann Arbor on acid. It is that cool. As for the campus, it's enormous. It's like it's own little city. But you can ride the busses for free, or ride your bike to class. Or drive. They admitted that the lecture classes are huge, but they break them down into smaller study groups once or twice a week. Professors teach the lectures, and TA's do the study groups. The cafeteria food is edible, which is good. The campus is insanely hilly. I bet that gets annoying. I saw a flyer for an anarchist potluck and it made me laugh. There were also a bunch of "Beat Bush!" flyers. And apparently both David Cobb (Green Party) and Ralph Nader are gonna be in Madison. There's this road right off campus called state street. It's all pedestrian and it is the craziest thing I've ever seen. There were 3 or 4 people sitting out there playing guitars, and also just random people asking for spare change. Someone asked us to sponser a runner for the race to beat Bush. Whatever that means. There were hippys everywhere. And there was a VW Beetle with a psychedelic paintjob.

In conclusion: U of WI is calling my name.

Then, we went to Rockford College in IL. That's a real small school of like 1500. Smaller than the high school. They are all about volunteering and helping out the community and stuff. Jane Adams graduated from Rockford. Which is cool. They give every incoming freshman a scholarship based on grades and volunteer service that's renewable. All the classes are within walking distance, so thats nice. I went to a mock class called The Art of Listening. It was about listening to music and the professor thought I was a genius. Or something. I think if you want to impress a professor you should sit right in front before anyone else does. I guess all the classes are pretty small, with like 20 people. The dorm rooms are pretty big. I was impressed. There was another girl from here there. How random is that? I've seen her in the halls but I don't know her. But I guess I do now. I'm not so crazy about Rockford, IL. It might be hard to survive without a car. And it doesn't seem to be the bastion of culture, but you never know.

In conclusion: Cool but iffy.

Um, I think that's it. I shall see you all soon, I hope.
