trying to get gmail unban.
Mrs henderson gave me the name of the lady that is in charge of it.
i emailed her this.

"Dear miss Lilley,
My name is Justin BeVier, I am a student at new beginnings highschool, Mrs. Henderson told me you are the one that is the admin on the network, I was wondering why you have some websites blocked such as
Http://www.gmail.com
http://www.hotmail.com
and a few others, But its only email, If we work on papers at home and dont have a printer, floppy disks, or blank CD's it is almoast impossiable to get them to school to print out. There are only 2 other ways of doing it, The first would be to bring your whole comuter in and hook it to the network which would be more trouble that its worth, or get some webspace, Decent webspace on the internet costs money, most people can't afford it.
Email is an easy, fast, and conveniant way to transfer information to and from school and home.
please take this email in consideration for unblocking email sites.
thank you for your time
Justin M. BeVier."

what do you guys think?

its a good idea but i dont think it will get anywhere. Because they thing first off that they are computer god. And being computer god you cna do whatever you want. If you want to block something for example like Google they will. Just to souly fuck with you. Even though it would be very hard to look things up, resulting in perhaps going to lesser search engines.

Second they will argue that emails bring in virus's and all the nasty stuff on the internet. Because they are to lazy to invest in a fire wall or perhaps some good anti virus programs.

This is what I would suggest. Get a box and in it, but a bootleg copy of Nortons Anti Virus, minus keys of course. Let them find that shit on there blocked internet. Then take a huge shit and wrap it in tin foil. Just in case they say fuck you. So in the end you would have the last laugh. And lastly put in the box two tin cans connect to string and a copy of the thing called the bill of rights. Make sure you cross out a few admendments. Cause Freedom of speech we really dont use that anymore. And the tin cans are the basically advance form of communitaction they are use too, and resulting us to use.

Seal that box up and write Love the founding fuckin fathers.

lol. It won't do anything.

They couldn't care less about you and your email. It's a security issue.

It's a 'the kids aren't on task' issue.

They don't give a crap.

I'm surprised they don't have Woohu blocked this year. You know the shit I've gone through with them about it.

The student body of the district shoule sign a petition. That might help. Even parents.

yeah, i was quite pleased to find woohu reinstated to the list of accessible sites.

and if i ever want to use hotmail, i'll ask martino to let me do it while she's logged on.

in the end it is in fact a kids on task issue. not being able to access your email to get your papers is in fact just another excuse people will use to not turn their papers in on time and then bitch about their laziness later. ridiculous really

lol justin...its funny

most if not all people have NO idea what they are talking about in these replies

like lizzy said its not an "on task" thing at all...they implemented a whole bunch of new stuff over the summer one of them being a firewall and the stuff that comes with it (like what blocks your email sites). This is not based on how they can screw over the students, but rather on a criteria that the email sites do not meet to be considered safe...now if you guys cannot access your email, then neither can they. They dont have special privilages in that sense. On the other hand it might be a school board thing where they are the ones who are demanding that these sites remain blocked in which case the board are being D-Bags but there is nothing that i can do to help that...now if you like i can talk to them the next time i go there and ask whats up cuz i know they were unblocked at one time in the summer...

and for future reference dont go assuming things before you know the whole story

also...if you go to any site now that has some "explicit" word on it the tech dept gets an email telling them what computer is displaying the material...and as before they can visually watch what you are doing from their desk
