| Rant So im laying on the couch. The phone rings, i answer. "Hey Jay, whats up". This got me excited because i thought it was a friend wanting to hang out or something. this turned all around when i was told it was the marines. Firstly, i dont know you pal, so you dont refer to me as jay, you refer to me as jay ruster, or sir, or something less friendly. after a long talk, where he doesnt let me hang up, he asks me some personal questions. he asks me about illegal drug use. im wondering, "why should i have to tell you anything, if you arnt going to tell me about yourself first, i dont even know your name". he also kept refering to me as "man". like, friendly man. again, DONT call me be a friendly term, unless you are of course, a friend. on top of that, he woke me up, at 9 in the morning, on my day off. what in gods name? i mean jesus. give the high schoolers a break. after that, he tells me i wouldnt be able to join, because im on probation. ok, thanks dumbass, like i didnt know that already. stop treating high school kids like we dont know what we are, and are not capable of doing. after that, he proceeds to tell me if i joined for infantry, that i would be elite, and get to fire all kinds of weapons. he seriously said that. again, dumbass, i KNOW what marines do, they are trained to go to war, and kill. what did you think i was going to do if i joined? sit around, be elite, and not shoot any weapons? i mean common, for fucks sake, wake up pal. dont get me wrong, i do love the military, you all know that, but regardless he shouldnt refer to me like a friend. ugh. valoth | 01-12-05 10:52am My brother had a nice encounter with the army 5 days after turning 18. They came over in a humvee then talked to him here for about 5 minutes then they said "mind if we talk over some food?" and took him to a restaurant and of course they drove, thus leaving my brother with no way out. Now Im not saying he went and said "yes! of course." to them but they didnt really give him a choice to say no. Anyway 3 hours later my brother comes home and was stuck with the entire bill from these arses.

tails | 01-12-05 2:02pm dude i think we got called by the same guy. at first i knew it wasnt a friend cause he said matt. most people ask for me as whetzel or just start talking cause my voice is reconginizable (i know i cant fucking spell) but anyway he said "man" a whole lot and asked me all kinds of questions so i told him. "i'm a fat kid, im not what you people are looking for so im going to hang up now" he told me "thats part of training, we help you lose weight and be what you always wanted to be". i tellz him "so your saying being fat isnt who i am, so your saying being skinny is my lifes goal and my dream. i cant be happy the way i am?" he then says "no i was just saying that we are going to help make you healthy and happy" i just sighed and said "i'm not interested" then he kept talking for like 20 more mins. |
