I said I would have more so here is round two! I just think this is so cute! This is my dad and Ahmed. Ashley started talking to Ahmed at one of the stores we were shopping at. He is the one that introduced us to his friends. This picture was at Youssef's house and is shortly before the almost marriage incident. This is my sister. I'm only posting this because she wants to steal it! Our trip to Pizza Hut in Marrakesh. The food wasn't that great but it was 10 times better than what we had been eating! The next few pictures are from our hotel or riad. It was someone's home but they made it into a bed and breakfast. In the middle of some Moroccan homes are courtyards with trees growing - we had an orange tree. Me on the roof - one of my favorite places in Marrakesh. Marrakesh may have seemed like another time but the satellite dishes lining the roofs give it away! The rooms of the riad open to the courtyard to there isn't much in the way of heating. This is me and my dad sitting in front of the "heater" we had. At least we had something - Ashley and Amanda didn't! These guys just look funny. This was in one of the Marrakesh gardens. The "huka". We're not sure what this is actually called but they smoke "huka" - flavored tobacco. Dont' worry no illegal substances were used on this trip. THE KASBAH We stayed in the kasbah area of Marrakesh. The kasbah is a walled off part of the city that usually included the kings palace. Below are a few photos taken on the streets. This picture is in the market in Marrakesh. This part was for metalworkers. The Moroccan national dish....Tagine. Looks lovely but by the 15th time of consumption I was done. I'm still done. We're so cute! This is from Volubilis. Just a picture of the four of us. Preparing for the desert. Amanda and I could only laugh at these - no way we were going to wear one! While we were in the desert the nomad guides wanted to read one of my books. So I spent time reading with them. Have to practice being an English teacher somehow! Dad decided to turn around while he was riding the camel. This was not a good idea and I don't think the guides were too impressed. We got a really good laugh out of it though! I'm still scanning so watch for more!
