Subject: Just thought that everyone should know ...
[edit] More than 300 comedians, comedy writers, producers and directors in the United States as well as Britain were asked to rank the 50 biggest names in comedy.

The list of 50 top comedians was compiled for the Channel 4 show The Comedians’ Comedian, which aired January 1, 2005 and was hosted by Jimmy Carr. Those who contribute to the program include Mike Myers, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, Jackie Mason, Joan Rivers, Sid Ceasar, David Baddiel, Barry Cryer, Steven Wright, Bill Oddie, Eric Sykes, Harry Shearer, Greg Proops, Leslie Neilsen and Carl Reiner. The show aired at 9:00 PM and ran for 3 hours.[/edit]

yeah, i felt the list was rather askew, but like i said, i was unfamiliar with a lot of those names, so they may be very funny, and i just don't know it yet.

but i felt there were others, and i'm sure they would have made the top 100.

Wait, I just realized that they ranked Bill Cosby below Robin Williams.
WTH? Bill Cosby is still a comedic icon, while Robin Williams has became a caricature of himself.

you know you guys, i don't necessarily stand by this.

it's just a bunch of opinions. apparently opinions which differ from those of the popular majority of this audience.

i meant no harm in the posting, it was just a simple thing.

they're comedians. i think they'd rather we be laughing about somehting than bickering about their relative stature.

please don't allow any of this to disrupt your somnambulance*.
