Former Presidental Canidate assaulted at WMU
The video

To think I almost went there... If only all my friends weren't busy.

And the Libs wonder why we can't have an informed debate.

I just can't understand why this really happened? Why do people hate him so? Why do people call him "the devil"? Is it because he wants to make the country more secure? Is it because he is for reforming our non-existant immagration policy? WHY IS HE HATED?

Michael Moore travels to collage campuses, and no one cares. This is a man who has said more negitive things about america then I care to recount. Yet everyplace he goes he gets a freaking Standing O.

Ward Churchill guest speaks at Universities all the time. He says that 9/11 was a result of the evil America exerts on the world. That the buisness men killed on that day deserved it. In fact he goes as far to say that the people that died were just "little Eichmanns (Nazis)".

Why that some who speak are champions of the first ammendment while others are "the devil" and are assaulted?

This reaks of hypocracy folks. Get some thick skin and here both sides of the world without being such little bitches.

I have no clue. How stereotypical, though. A college-age kid who's not in college with crazy multicolored hair. Cripes.
I found it amusing, and would have found it amusing if it had been any other political figure. If people are going to be asses about their politics and back those beliefs up with miscellaneous condiments, I believe I am entitled to laugh at them.

He is in college, just not Western. I think it said he went to KVCC.

While his actions were a little extreme, I will say that I think those posters around campus were downright offensive, regardless of your views.

He was not "celebrating", and to advertise his speaking at WMU with such claims was just in poor taste. I can't believe that they advertised in that fashion. I wouldn't have cared that he came to speak, I can easily listen to both sides of the debate, but those posters made me want to vomit.

Do you know who Ceaser Chavez is? If you do then, you are probably in the 1% who does. Otherwise you most likely just read the editorial in the western hereld which said exactly what you said.

If you did then tough luck. He's not a racist. You may blancketly assume he is because he's a republican but it's not so. Also the advertisement wasn't for him to celebrate... It was ironic, but not decietfull. It would be like having Ben Stiller come on Easter, and the advertisement say "Come celebrate Easter with Ben".

That doesn't mean Ben will preside a mass or anything. I wouldn't vomit because Ben is Jewish and it's on easter. Who the heck cares? It's one line on a piece of paper printed off by a college student.

The editoral made it seem as it was a cardinal blaspheme.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re:, 04-02-05 11:28am

Mike,
If you'll recall where I'm from....

RURAL FARMING COMMUNITY.

I grew up on the Sparta Rockford border, which is known for.....apple orchards. And also with apple orchards comes migrant workers. Cesar Chavez led the United Farm Workers. And supported basic human rights, like a living wage.

I don't think Ben Stiller walks around badmouthing the Pope or insulting Christians. And if they brought him to campus to talk about how Christians were invading the country and ruining the Jewish way of life...yeah, that'd be worth vomiting. Although he wouldn't have enough support to matter, so it would be stupid.

Mike, I know you're a good guy so it doesn't make sense to me that you would support a group of people making fun of another group of people's leader. In general Cesar Chavez was a good guy and I don't see how Pat Buchanen can use his name in an offensive fashion. It would be like all the non-Catholic students putting up signs to celebrate the death of the pope, by coming to their church. Some things are just not appropriate. I don't support/believe the pope, but you don't see me hanging posters.

Anyway, I don't think I've read the Herald since they openly supported Bush in the election :) So that's not it.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re:, 04-02-05 2:39pm

1) I don't think Pat Buchanon said anything about Ceaser Chavez.

2) I haven't heard him say anything against Mexican People. There maybe something which taken out of context that apperars to be anti-latino. But he's a public figure.

He has never said anything as bad as Michael Moore or Ward Churchill. It's like Rush Limbaugh. He's on the air 15 hours a week for the last 17 years. He says 1 black quarter back is overrated (which he was) and all of the sudden he's a KKK member.
