because i'm a big jerk like that, i consulted the dictionary. here's what harper-collins has to say:

lieb: Dear (adj.)
liebe: love (n.)
liebebedurftig (i haven't installed umlaut yet): love (adj.)
lieben: love (v.)
liebhaber: lover (n.)
liebkosen: to caress (v.)
lieblich: lovely, charming (adj.)

so, when i say "i love you", love is a verb, yes? i realize it's a sentence fragment, but in order to be a complete thought, it still needs a noun and a verb. it can't be three nouns. so, i'm gonna stand my ground on this one.

and yes, ICH LIEBEN SIE IMMERHIN!
