Student loan overview

In Alberta, there are two sources of student loans - Canada Student Loans (NSLSC), sponsored by the federal government, and Alberta Student Loans (ALIS), sponsored by the provincial government. If you are eligible, you may receive both loans by submitting one application. The government of Canada provides about 60% of all student loans, and gives Canada Study Grants (CSG) to high-need students. The Government of Alberta provides about 40% of all student loans, and offers extra grants and bursaries for students with high financial need.

To be considered for full-time funding, students must be enrolled in at least 60% of a full course load. Assistance is awarded based on financial need, and it is intended to be supplemental to student and family resources. The cost of post-secondary education is a shared responsibility among students, parents, and government.

Ok, so if you live in Canada raise your hand!!! If you don’t live here then you don’t have a right to say anything bad about my country.
1. the health care here is actually quiet good, 95% of all jobs will pay for your provincial health care card allowing you to go to clinics for free, be looked at by physicians to determine what is wrong...where in some countries you would have to pay $200+ to see a doctor.
2. We have what is called Blue Cross, If your employer does not offer health care coverage for example every company I have worked for covered 80% medical, 80% dental and different coverage as well. If you do not work full time, for a small monthly fee you are able to purchase different plans covering up too 100%. Which is what I have, I do not have to pay to see a doctor, I don’t pay for prescriptions, I don’t pay for surgery ...I believe we have very good coverage.
3. Alberta is the only province with “half tax” because we are the only province in Canada that is debt free. Therefore, we do not have PST. However we still pay GST.
4. I would just like to point out that the Canadian government may charge taxes, however what we pay into the taxes goes to help the people of our country in one way or another. It is not the same as some countries, where a % of the taxes paid go to supporting the fucking wars that some countries deem necessary in proving that they have the biggest balls.
