Current mood: tired Subject: Camp Nicolet. |
|
Here are some photos from camp so far. I thought this was appropriate to start with. Welcome to Camp Nicolet! I, or someone else on the kitchen staff, rings that bell four times before every meal. These ducks are always swimming around and resting up on shore. You're going to get a lot of these, because I think the landscape at camp is beautiful. This is the path I take every day to get back to the loft, where I sleep. I love it at this time of day. In case you forgot what I looked like. This is the view from my window in the loft. Isn't is stunning? You can see the lines from the screen too. :P Speaking of the loft, here it is. Above the garage, see those four windows? That's the loft. The two windows on the left are where my room is. The windows on the other side is a room where my roommates sleep. Do you see in my window on the left? Yes, that is a stack of toilet paper holding the window up. This is my room. This is the other side of my room. This is my bathroom. This is part of the hallway connecting mine and my roommates' rooms. If you can see, there is a cage.. one whole side of the wall is just a huge open cage. We don't know why it's there and we don't like walking past it at night. This is Paula, one of my roommates. She's the archery and riding instructor. She was showing me her bow. This is Anna. She's a friend of mine. She's a swimming instructor. This is the laundry cabin. I'm always amused by the picture nailed to the top, so I took a picture of it. Pam, the kitchen manager/head cook. This is BBQ night. She's making cheddarwursts and baked beans. (And garden burgers for the vegetarians.) I like Pam, she's a very nice lady. She's also a professional opera singer. Here are all of the campers and some staff waiting to get dinner, on that same BBQ night. Larisa and Ekaterina. These are two girls who work with me in the kitchen. They are from Russia. I really really enjoy them. Everytime someone has a birthday, I have to make them a cake. One day there were three birthdays! Here are the cakes I made. This is the outside of the kitchen and dining hall, which is where I work. I planned to take a picture of the inside.. but forgot. So one day I pulled a batch of cookies out of the oven, put them on a rack, pulled another batch of cookies out of the oven, and as I turned to put them on a rack, I hit the pan of the other cookies. Here is the result, about halfway healed. Sarah. She's from New Zealand. So kind and friendly. It's a shame it's blurry. On my day off, I went with some girls to Katy's house on the lake to spend the night. Katy is the girl on the left and Anneke is the girl on the right. These next few photos are from that day. On the left is Katy, Karen is behind her in the back (she's from England) and Jodi is on the right in front. (She's from Australia.) Katy and Anneke. On the 4th of July, Jeremy (the owner) rode around in this thing in soldier's gear blaring a blow horn at 8am. Here's where they have campfires. One day I went to Eagle River and found a used book store that was having a sale. I bought all 23 of these amazing books for $27. I was in ecstacy for a day afterwards. I'm still excited when I think about it. This is the staff room. We spend our nights here. I just liked this picture. It's of the lodge and a swing set (obviously) in front of it. Wisconsin welcomes you! yayyy! The bridge everyone loves to photograph. And last but not least.... Sydney. <3. |
