| so, a creative bug has hit me, and i have written my first song. please keep in mind this is a rough version and is subject to change. at this point i only have the lyrics, but i think i know what key i want to write it in and am working out how i want it to sound. i am, nevertheless, filled with an exuberant amount of pride at this. and while i may feel extremely exposed, please enjoy: mama's putting on her face noticed she hasn't changed her top maybe i'm letting nerves get the best of me but something was definitely off pushing things back to a quarter to eight the butterflies start to churn warm, soft, little fluffy buddy black eyes peaking through as if to say "oh mama please don't go!" (chorus) oh mama please don't go all i want is a little time with you you can't say "i'm steppin out and you can't come with me..." this has to be a joke, you can't put on that coat mama leave your shoes were they are please say we are going for a walk something tells me that's a no oh mama please don't go... (chorus) once my pleas have worn me down and i find myself comforted by your shoes by the door you'll find me here patiently waiting while you're gone steppin out.. (maybe another chorus) thoughts? ideas? please be kind! |
