Does anyone have a reliable vehicle we could take to see Ok Go? Nick doesn't think my car's gonna make it and he doesn't trust his either.

To people who would like to go to the Ok Go concert on Saturday:
I could not find a time for the concert but it is apparently before the football game. (If anyone knows further details, please tell me.)
If you would like to go, respond to this entry and/or call me.
We'll figure out transportation once I know for sure who's coming. I planned on making it a day trip, leaving early on Saturday, picking up Katie at Western and hanging out in Ann Arbor once we got there (because I love Ann Arbor and I want Katie to come).
I love you all.

My French professor joked with us the other day and he was so proud that he had made us all laugh.
A student asked how long our compositions needed to be (the last one was, at maximum, a page). He replied with a straight face saying it needed to be no more than 5 or 6 pages. We all made that stunned "wha?!" noise before laughing as he smiled.
It was hilarious. He's so French it's awesome.
I love college.

My sister just informed me that Ok Go is having a free concert in Ann Arbor on October 7. That is a Saturday and also the same day as Rockford's homecoming dance (ha ha on my sister).
I was thinking of going if people want to come along. It's Ok Go and it's FREE.
It's also a two and a half hour drive so this decision is liable to change. Unless I end up not driving, then I'm all for it.
(BTW, I liked them before they sold out and were famously awesome. Gotta keep up my indie cred.)
I love you.
P.S. I just realized that is also Red Flannel weekend. Decisions, decisions.
P.P.S. Emily and I will both turn 20 in France. I expect cards and packages.

:: Mood: sick
Yesterday
Nick and I went to see The Last Kiss last night at Celebration. In the middle of the movie, I thought I head a tornado siren but shrugged it off because I always think I'm hearing a tornado siren.
Nick kept pointing out that the projector was making weird noises and he was getting nervous about it which made me nervous. The whole theater was really anxious and everyone kept shifting in their seats.
I began to hear the rain start falling a lot more than it had been. It was pounded loudly on the roof but there wasn't any thunder, just rain pouring down. Suddenly there was a big booming noise and the power went out. No one screamed or anything thank goodness because I hate when people scream when the power goes out.
Anyway so the power went out and we just sat there. Nick (thank goodness he was there) grabbed my hand and started talking to me. He just kept talking trying to calm me down as the power came back on. I told him I was okay, just surprised and we sat in the theater murmuring for thirty seconds just waiting for someone to tell us what to do.
As a girl got up to leave the theater and see what was happening, someone came into the theater: "There's a tornado warning and we need you all to come into the hallway."
There was no hesitation as we all gathered our things and left the theater. As we got outside, Nick noticed I was shaking and he talked me down again. My parents were gone this weekend so I was worried about Hannah and Nathaniel. I called them and they were okay so I was okay.
We sat in the hallway for about half an hour and in that time we were told that two tornadoes had touched down and were heading north towards us. The tornado warning was over at 6:30 but then extended to 6:42 so everyone just sort of sat around waiting. We got free passes to another movie so it was okay.
Yeah, it was fun. Tornado warnings have always freaked me out, ever since I was a little kid. The first one I remember was when I was in first or second grade when we lived in McHenry, IL. I was in the kitchen at the table with my mom and a tornado warning came on the little TV.
I love you all.

I just wrote my first horrid paper of the semester and told my boyfriend that I didn't want to see him this weekend because all he does is play WoW.
Yay.
I'm in a mood. Damn period.

And Jessa inspired me to change my layout. Even though it doesn't fit on my screen it's still awesome and so is the song.
I LOVE YOU.

My sister and I were digging through our old VHS tapes and we found The Princess and the Goblin. It wasn't as wonderful as we remembered.
We also found our old Hello Kitty tapes. I love Hello Kitty. We watch Hello Kitty Cinderella and Hello Kitty Heidi. It was fantastic.
My father comes home at some point today. His flight was delayed.
I have homework to do whenever I become not lazy.
I love you all.
P.S. I bought Nick an alarm clock. It's also a night light.
P.P.S. The Princess and the Goblin had a preview for Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland before it. I love that movie too.

Classes are fine. I will hopefully be getting books tomorrow or Thursday because I have homework due on Thursday and Friday.
I got a new tire. It was 48 dollars and change.
I need $1100 give or take $10 by September 6. Then I will need $520 every month through April. France.
I love you all.

Since my classes don't start until tomorrow at noon, I'm going to try and see if I can get my tire fixed before then.
I hope so because I have class until 6:30.
I'm all set for school (minus books), just nervous.
I'm going to go do laundry and clean my room.
I love you all.

Some student mentioned on The Moose (Aquinas' online forum/news post thing) that he wanted to start an Arabic class and all he needed were people who wanted to take it.
I stupidly emailed him to say I would love to take it. Even though I'm at 18 credits and six classes. I don't know about your college, but at Aquinas 12-18 credits is the same price and 19 credits or higher costs more money.
So if this Arabic class does pan out, I have to drop something. Maybe more than one somethings because a language class is usually 4 credits. So there goes Spanish.
I don't mind really. I have always wanted to learn Arabic. My grandmother never spoke it. She always told us when our shintins were showing but besides that, the only Arabic she spoke was when she told us the names of the food she was making.
I miss my grandmother. I miss her yelling at my mom ("Annie!") or just plain exclaiming ("For HEAVEN'S sake"). I miss the plastic lego-like plants on the table that no one dared to sit by and the hassock that was held together, barely, by packaging tape. I miss Easter and her horribly 50's Christmas tree. I miss Thanksgiving with everyone in the family and time-outs in "the chair" when we were too old. I miss her homemade play-doh and the little cinnamon rolls she always bought. I miss "Uncle Mike's juice" and my cousin, Tyler. I miss my grandfather's chair and watching TV through his binoculars. I miss her fireplace and her huge piece-of-furniture-TV.
Tangent, sorry.
I love you all.

Work is really busy this week because of people who want to schedule or change classes at the last minute. How much of the last minute? School starts on Monday and people are making appointments for Friday.
Anyway, I went into work today from 9-5 and I'll go in tomorrow too. Then I'll be in for my normal hours the rest of the week.
I am not looking forward to next week. The first few weeks are horrible work-wise. Everyone wants a copy of their schedule (even though they can get it online) and they all want to drop and add classes.
I'm excited that classes start soon but my schedule is so messy that I'm afraid I'll be stressed out.
[Schedule below the cut.]

I can't remember when I work so until I do, just think of it as Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday when I'm not in class.
I love you all.
