An AMAZING Christmas tree story
When Hannah and I were at Schuler a few weeks ago, I bought this AMAZING Christmas tree that I thought looked pretty cool. In twelve hours, with magic water, this stuff happens! You can even grow an Aryan supremacy tree!

It seemed awesome at the time. Five bucks worth of awesome, at that. However, all my hopes were crushed in just a few minutes after my arrival home.

The tree had instructions on the bottom of the package. These instructions specifically stated that the tree would only last 3 to 4 days. Oh, that's okay. I'll just set the whole thing up on Wednesday night and hopefully it would last until Sunday.

So last night I finally got to set up my AMAZING Christmas tree.

Well, it follows that the "magical water" is actually monobasic potassium phosphate. Which I'm fine with, I suppose. I mean, it's not as magical when you give it a name like that but it's cooler. More cool.

Like all -ic-ium-ates, you shouldn't get monobasic potassium phostphate in your eyeballs. It is a buffering agent or a dietary supplement.

I actually didn't care what it was. (Did you see those side effects?) All I cared was that it would make my tree grow.

But it turns out that I should have cared because the monobasic potassium phosphate monobasic SMELLS REALLY BAD.

I have a very stinky Christmas tree (which I would love to show you because it's sweet but all the batteries to all the cameras in this house are dead.) sitting on my kitchen table right now.

9 o'clock marks 12 hours since it has been stewing downstairs. It also marks the point in time when we can put the star on top and sprinkle the glitter on it! Yay!

I love you all.

P.S. You should buy one. They're fun. I don't know if they're five dollars worth of fun but they're fun.

So. I'm trying to set up parental controls so my brother can't play WoW 24/7 and so the rest of the world can get on the computer.

But they make you answer the security question that you chose when setting up your account. Ben helped me set my account up so he chose the question. "What is your favorite activity?"

I can't remember what he put as an answer but it probably had something to do with sex.

without you, it's not as much fun to pick up the pieces pizza...
I missed "Pass the Ace" at the Rad X-Mas party today. That makes me immeasurably disheartened. Some random boyfriend of one of my step-cousins won. And I missed seeing my step-uncle Rich who lives in Cali. I'll have to visit him if I ever get around to visiting Leeder.

oh lord we break so easy/oh lord we shatter like glass...
OK, so it might be a couple days early, but it occurs to me today that I made it. I lost my fair share of the battles, but the war continues. I did something that I never doubted that I could do, but once I got here there, realized would be a hell of a lot tougher than I had anticipated.

NYC Jason, you broke me so many times over. Now it's a chance for me to stop, lick my wounds, and see how much ground I've covered in the past four months.

Three weeks, and then I'm back into battle. This is a war I'll never stop waging.

So. I don't know if you all got me a Christmas present yet (or were planning on it) but I say don't do it.

Here's the thing:

Rachel and Nick are currently accepting donations toward the purchase of a sugar glider. Sugar gliders alone cost $250 but we'd also need a cage and food for it.

If you have a bird cage lying around (I don't know how many of you had birds) that could work as a cage. We could even pay you if your parents don't want to give it away.

Also, I don't know if any of you are the sewing type, but to bond with a sugar glider (and also to give them something to sleep in) you give them a "pouch." Made of FLEECE. Apparently, that's important. Comme ca. (Pretend that c has a cedilla on it, mmkay?) Basically, it's a bag with a string on it. You hang it in/on their cage and the glider sleeps in it during the day. Then you take the pouch out and put it around your neck and (eventually) it'll come out and play. It's a bonding thing, since sugar gliders are like kangaroos or any of those pouch baby animals.

Nick mentioned that upon donating money or resources, one would have the opportunity to [help] name the sugar glider. You'll have to ask him if that offer still stands.

In other news, tomorrow and Saturday I will either be shopping or babysitting or participating in events you are not privy to so I shall not be able to "hang out" with anyone. However, next week I can work whenever I feel like it so if anyone wants to do anything, I'm game.

I love you all.

P.S. I know a whole lot about sugar gliders (I was totally obsessed with them for two or three years) so if you have any questions, direct them to me or Nick. Thanks.
