at night

at night i sleep alone and i
smell verily of vanilla while

the facelessnameless eons of
boys who occupied my

space dance like phantoms
in the geometric ceiling shadows

calling the nicknames of other
girls they loved a little more

than me. i kiss like an actress--
it's all in the closed-eye

chin-sweeping dramatics, they
tell me in analysis, later

over lukewarm coffee, when we break
up before we started--

because my eyes aren't engaging
in the daylight, they all

tell me, but and and there have been so many
takers before.

i lie omnipresently, the truth
is a bulimic girl-child

who spits up semen and girlscout cookies
whilst watching cartoons with her

rabbit. i am

i sleep alone with no TV

dont i miss my fairy wings...
i want fairy wings, like the ones you had when you were 4. remember, they have little straps of elastic that go around your shoulders and arms, so you can get your fairy on? of course, they had a lot of glitter. when i had MY fairy wings, after i was done playing my back, shoulders, and the back of my neck were all...glittery. i guess thats just the way it goes.

but it would stil be cool. i'm so going to the toy store the next chance i get. whohOo!
