I love scary stories
Okay, here's the freekiest story I know:

Step Drag

It was the hottest summer anyone could remember at Camp. It was between sessions. Three vans of kids had just left and new kids weren’t due for another two days. That left the five Camp Counselors ready for a nice, peaceful, kid-free weekend.

Unknown to them, another bus—a grey prison bus—was winding along the road outside of the camp, transporting a single prisoner—a madman! And the two guards assigned to him believed it. He was very tall and strong, so his hands were bound in huge handcuffs and his legs were hobbled close to each other with a chain and shackles. To keep him from running or kicking out at anyone, the guards added an old-fashioned ball and chain, which they’d found in an old dungeon in the prison. That kind of thing hadn’t been used for nearly a century. The chain was clamped to the madman’s right ankle, and the heavy iron ball was on the end of a four-foot chain.
The madman was sitting quietly with his eyes closed, smiling that same simple smile he always smiled just to keep the guards wondering. Thinking that the madman was asleep, the guards weren’t being watchful enough. As the bus swerved on a tight mountain curve, one guard slid off the wooden bench and fell against the prisoner, who wasn’t asleep at all. He quickly grabbed the guard by the neck with the short chain on his handcuffs.
While they struggled, the other guard got up and went after the madman. The madman dropped the strangled guard and lunged after the other one. The guard tried to draw his pistol, but the madman had picked up the iron ball and thrown it before the guard even had a chance.
The madman found keys on the guard to remove the cuffs and the leg chain and shackles, but he could not find a key for the ball and chain. He picked up the iron ball again, smashed the wire glass window to the cab of the prison bus, and grabbed the driver by the throat. The bus swerved all over the road and finally crashed into the deep ditch, stopping against a large tree. The madman was free!

Back at the Camp, the counselors had swum all afternoon and were now back in their cabin, reading and listening to the radio. There wasn’t a TV anywhere in the camp. The sun went down and the owls began to hoot scarily off in the distance. Suddenly, someone screamed! Everyone came running out of their tents and met at the assembly ground. Melissa, the swimming instructor, was missing! The other four ran to her cabin. The door was open but she was nowhere to be found. Only a few drops of blood remained. The counselors gasped, then suddenly became very quiet.
“Sshhh!” whispered David. They all strained to listen. In the trees, somewhere nearby they could hear:
Step… Drag… step… drag… step… drag…
“Let’s split up and look for her!” said Jeff. They all ran off in different directions into the dark woods. After a few minutes, David yelled for everyone to come to him. It was hard to follow his voice in the underbrush; it was hard to believe that the woods in camp were so thick and impenetrable. Soon Jeff and Scott found David staring up into a tree. There in the moonlight was Tim. He was hanging unconscious in a fork of the tree branches. Off to the south they could hear noises in the under-growth”
Step… Drag… step… drag… step… drag…
Jeff climbed the tree and lowered the body to the others. The three of them carried the limp body back to the mess hall. Once inside, Jeff hurried to lock all the doors with big wooden boards.
“You all stay here”, he said “and lock this door behind me. I’ve got to get to the office where the phone is.” The others objected but Jeff went out the front door and slipped off into the darkness. The others dropped the wooden bar back into its metal brackets, to prevent anyone from entering. After a few minutes, the lights suddenly went out. The counselors started to scream, but then they realized that whoever had cut the wires might not know where they were. They held their hands over their mouths and hid under the serving counter.
Suddenly, something rattled the front door. It must be the “thing”! The counselors huddled together. Next, they heard something outside the window just above them:
Step… Drag… step… drag… step… drag…
The double doors rattled again. Jeff whispered, “Hey dudes, let me in!” The dragging sound was moving around the building going toward the back door. Jeff gasped louder, “Let me in!”
David ran from the Counter to the door and lifted the bar. Jeff darted into the mess hall like a scared cat. Just as they got the double doors shut, the dragging sound came around to the front. Just as they dropped the wooden bar into its brackets, something huge and heavy hit the door, cracking the wood.
Jeff and Scott ran across the room, tripping and stumbling over chairs in the dark. The object hit the door again, and the wooden bar cracked with a loud noise. The two counselors looked under the serving counter. David wasn’t there! They ran to the back door.
“The phone lines must have been cut,” whispered Jeff. “The phone was dead.” The heavy weight hit the front door again, breaking part of the door’s upper half. Jeff and Scott lifted the bar from the back door and swung it open. Another crash at the front door told them the doors were about to give. The two slipped into the tall pantry and closed the door.
Back in the mess hall, the double front doors gave way in a burst of splinters and broken boards. A deathly silence followed. The two counselors hardly dared to take a breath. Suddenly, they heard that sound out on the wooded floor:
Step… Drag… step… drag… step… drag…
The sound stopped right outside the pantry door. Scott gasped. Jeff cupped his hand over his mouth and the two held their breath. Jeff was afraid the thing outside could hear his heart beating.
Suddenly, there was a terrible scream outside the pantry.
It was David! He had moved to another hiding place, leaving Jeff and Scott on their own. Now the thing, whatever it was, had found him. There was another scream and the sound of something going out the back door.
Then everything was quiet as a graveyard.

The two waited all night, hardly breathing. The sun began to come up; they could see light coming in through the cracks of the wooden pantry. A morning dove was calling softly in the woods.
Then they heard a sound. Someone was coming in the front door. Slow footsteps crossed the floor, along with the sound of something dragging along the boards.
The sound came closer to the pantry.
Closer.
Suddenly it stopped, right in front of the pantry door as if someone was waiting.
Scott could not take it anymore. He screamed.
The Pantry door swung open, and there standing over them was a tall, muscular form, lit from behind. The man bent over.
He took off his wide-brimmed hat and showed them his badge. “I’m the Sheriff”, he said, dropping the heavy bag of weapons and bulletproof vests he had been dragging.
“Thank God you two are all right!!”

The first time I heard it, I was at a camp and couldn't hear the end because we were all so freeked out of our minds. I tell this one to people and it still works.

GAH!
I just spent an hour on a trip that should have only taken half an hour! I was going to Wal Mart to get some raisinets and pop for a movie later and I turned down Gary. After passing Stratford, I realized I'd turned down the wrong road so I turned down Schick because it sounded familiar. After that, I turned down Glen Ellyn Road and drove some more down that. Then I found Army Trail Road and turned down that, then I found Walmart and realized I shouldn't have turned down Gary but Schmale. So I took the frickin scenic route.
Well, I suppose I should update since I haven't been doing that too often
The dunes were awesome, got a job at Muldoon's so my last day at Steamers is Friday
Chris came home a couple days early and Mel came home yesterday
I'm going to see Princess Diaries 2 and I'm oddly excited about it
I don't know if I mentioned this, but I met Nathan's little sister (Abby) and I went into his room so I have to recap what was in it:
beanie babies *smiles to self* (they were in a corner)
a television, stereo, and X box/game cube/I don't remember which it was
a Sports Illustrated
other random sports stuff
Lord of the Rings stuff
a toy Hercules figurine (like you'd get at McDonald's in kids meals)
lots and lots of books
his cup from Serve which held a large amount of money (his tithe money, aww!!!)
all in all, it was a sweet room
but yeah, I don't have too much more to say

I was at the Warren Dunes yesterday and I think I stayed out in the sun for too long so I've got something
headache, dizzy, tired, sore (that's from large amounts of activity)
but yeah, I went and saw Colatteral today and I really liked that
Sunday was awesome, I had so much fun
I hung out with Jenn, Nathan, Scott, Dahvede, John (Deli), and I got to meet Nathan's sister!
yay!

*is bored*
I really need something to do
This is the grand amount of things I have done this week:
worked a total of nine hours (woot, woot)
got a thingy so I can volunteer at Wise Penny
put an application in at Muldoon's
went on errands for school stuff
and that's really it
I've been wanting to see Harry Potter 3 again but I don't feel like spending 7.50 just to get into the theatre at AMC so that one's out of the question until it goes to Ogden
*sighs*
I really miss people
Okay, I may have done this in a previous entry, but Eric, Chris, Scott, (possibly Nathan, not sure on that one, he wasn't at church so I don't know), Ruthie, Mel, Steve, Becki, and Hailey are all gone
why does everyone go at the beginning of August? although, I suppose Chris doesn't count because he's been gone since the beginning of July but HE'S COMING HOME IN A WEEK!!!! and Eric doesn't count because he left the middle of July and isn't getting back until the middle of December *Tears*
ah, well, I think that's all I have to say for now

VENTING
Ruthie's gone
Mel's gone
Eric's gone
Chris is gone
WHY IS EVERYONE LEAVING ME!

yeah, I'm really bored now
oh, I need to vent right now so sorry if this is old news/boring
MANNY MAKES ME SO MAD!!!
the last time I hung out with him, he called me a slut and made me feel like he was insinuating that I should be his bitch and I really don't want to deal with that so I'm refusing to be friends with him
so today he comes up behind me and hugs me and apparently expects me to be friendly with him, however, I was not planning on it
he's just become so split in his personality and it makes me really mad; GAH! I can't even explain how mad he makes me
he's just so arrogant and I feel like he expects relationships to be one-sided, also known as he gets everything without giving anything back and I hate it!
just thinking about it gives me a massive headache but I can't handle thinking about it any more so that's all of that

I'm really bored right now if I haven't made that clear yet
*sighs*
Nathan (West Virginia boy) hasn't written yet and I'm really not expecting him to but Ruthie says to give him time so that's what I'm going to do

alright, so, Saturday, went to work but came home after two and a half hours because I felt sick, worked five hours on Sunday, four hours on Monday and four hours on Wednesday
I went to Al Capone's grave on Wednesday and ate a doughnut on him with Ruthie then she showed me some of her family's graves
Yesterday, I hung out with Justina for a bit, got my split ends cut off, went out to dinner with my family, and saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with my sister; I really liked the movie even though it was really different from the book and the scenery was different from the other two movies. oh well, today, I'm hanging out with Kristin and then going to a site party

Alright, so I'm not frustrated any more. I went white water rafting in West Virginia and got the address of a boy who kept looking at me. : ) Scandilous, isn't it? I hung out with Mel yesterday and Eric today. Hopefully, he'll get his address situation worked out before he leaves for Chile on Sunday. I'm hanging out with Timmy tomorrow, really excited about that. Otherwise, I haven't been up to much. I read the third and fourth Harry Potter books and then Ella Enchanted as well. I'm planning on starting Walk Two Moons soon and I also want to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with Ruthie soon. I don't have much else to say at the moment so (since I miss Chris right now) Shalom

Okay, I can finish explaining now. I just feel like she doesn't care about me as much as I care about her. I mean, she's my friend and absolutely refused to tell me what was so important that Rob, someone she barely knows by the way, needs to talk with her. It really upsets me because she doesn't have a personal relationship with him and she has one with me. Doesn't she think that I'm going to worry about her? Doesn't that thought cross her mind at all? I am just really mad about this right now.

Okay, so I just stopped talking to Ruthie and she's going to talk to Rob Reinow tomorrow and she knows what it's about. However, she doesn't want to tell me about it. I really don't know how to react to that. She has every right to her privacy. I'll explain more later.

more PS stuff
okay, i thought i'd put in another story here from PS:
so i wanted a picture with Mel and a picture with Eric so i asked him about it and he was fine with it but said if he was taking a picture of Mel and I then he got to pick how he wanted to do it so he pointed to a wheel barrow and told us to get in. Mel got in and i basically laid down on top of her and he took the picture. Eric then decided it would be funny to pick up the wheel barrow and carry us in it (let me say that this wheel barrow wasn't exactly in the best of conditions either so it could have fallen apart) so i got a picture of that as well. he let us get out and i got a picture with him.

yesterday, i went to Steve Southwell's house for a site party. his dad got some large company off the ground so his house was definitely huge; it has a soccer field in the yard and eight bathrooms, if that gives you any idea about what it was like; i mean we were all laughing because we didn't know what else to do, it was insane; so i drove with Steve to get the pizza and he showed me where he almost died, which was a little scary, i think he just has a little too much fun being dangerous in his driving but i do trust him that he's going to be safe when i'm in the car, at least; Timmy's interesting to drive with as well, he can't read two hundred feet in front of him and he was joking about a green light being red and then turned back to look at me and took his hands off the wheel so i braced myself right there; oh, speaking of, on the way home from Steve's, Timmy drove four other people home in a car made for four people, so Hailey had shotgun, Mel and I had seat belts and Eric sat on the cup holders in let us say not the most comfortable position and Timmy was really taking advantage of his vulnerable situation, i felt bad for him when we turned or swayed, ooh new tangent, while at Steve's house, he told Scott Palmer to sit in this chair at the edge and push back, apparently it pops up and hits boys in the groin; i told Tim to try it and then Eric tried it voluntarily which i thought was really really stupid because he jumped up right when it happened, so he ended in the top five of his class, that doesn't make him smart in everything
