Classes are fine. I will hopefully be getting books tomorrow or Thursday because I have homework due on Thursday and Friday.
I got a new tire. It was 48 dollars and change.
I need $1100 give or take $10 by September 6. Then I will need $520 every month through April. France.
I love you all.

Since my classes don't start until tomorrow at noon, I'm going to try and see if I can get my tire fixed before then.
I hope so because I have class until 6:30.
I'm all set for school (minus books), just nervous.
I'm going to go do laundry and clean my room.
I love you all.

Some student mentioned on The Moose (Aquinas' online forum/news post thing) that he wanted to start an Arabic class and all he needed were people who wanted to take it.
I stupidly emailed him to say I would love to take it. Even though I'm at 18 credits and six classes. I don't know about your college, but at Aquinas 12-18 credits is the same price and 19 credits or higher costs more money.
So if this Arabic class does pan out, I have to drop something. Maybe more than one somethings because a language class is usually 4 credits. So there goes Spanish.
I don't mind really. I have always wanted to learn Arabic. My grandmother never spoke it. She always told us when our shintins were showing but besides that, the only Arabic she spoke was when she told us the names of the food she was making.
I miss my grandmother. I miss her yelling at my mom ("Annie!") or just plain exclaiming ("For HEAVEN'S sake"). I miss the plastic lego-like plants on the table that no one dared to sit by and the hassock that was held together, barely, by packaging tape. I miss Easter and her horribly 50's Christmas tree. I miss Thanksgiving with everyone in the family and time-outs in "the chair" when we were too old. I miss her homemade play-doh and the little cinnamon rolls she always bought. I miss "Uncle Mike's juice" and my cousin, Tyler. I miss my grandfather's chair and watching TV through his binoculars. I miss her fireplace and her huge piece-of-furniture-TV.
Tangent, sorry.
I love you all.

Work is really busy this week because of people who want to schedule or change classes at the last minute. How much of the last minute? School starts on Monday and people are making appointments for Friday.
Anyway, I went into work today from 9-5 and I'll go in tomorrow too. Then I'll be in for my normal hours the rest of the week.
I am not looking forward to next week. The first few weeks are horrible work-wise. Everyone wants a copy of their schedule (even though they can get it online) and they all want to drop and add classes.
I'm excited that classes start soon but my schedule is so messy that I'm afraid I'll be stressed out.
[Schedule below the cut.]

I can't remember when I work so until I do, just think of it as Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday when I'm not in class.
I love you all.

Went to India for two weeks for a school trip.
I'm back. Our studies in ayurveda are basically going to bore you, so I won't bother you with those. Our touristy stuff I can tell you later.
I can give you a fairly good representation of one crazy day in India.
We were on our way from Delhi to Agra in a rented A/C taxi. Dr. Bauman had been chatting with the driver in Hindi, because that way they rip you off less and are less inclined to drive you to places you don't want to go just to get a commission from some shopkeeper in case you buy something.
He passed a roadside rather-shady poll collector. It's hard to tell the government officials because they look just like local people who are simply pissed that a road was built and want to take your money to get back at The Man. He passed it, but thought better of it and went back after driving about half a mile down the road. We were left in the middle of a dusty road full of other vehicles.
Dr. Bauman turns around. "So, since it's been a while since the first time I was here, what are you guys really finding interesting now that you're here?"
"What's interesting?" was the general response. "What do you mean, have we seen anything interesting?"
Then, the circus began.
A woman approached the car with a handful of beaded necklaces. "Beads, madam. Madam. Madam. Hello." She tapped on the window. She called through the window. She clinked the beads against the glass window where they rattled and clattered and jingled. No amount of telling her no in English or Hindi would dissuade her.
A man walked by on the side of the road followed by two bears on leashes.
By this point we were laughing hysterically, far too involved in how rediculous this was to actually pay attention to how many rupees the necklace woman wanted.
A fakir arrived on the scene, fully arrayed in robes, turban and beard, coming from behind the car with monkeys trailing behind. One or more of them leapt up on our van, clinging to my window (Reread. MY WINDOW.) and gyrating violently in a distinctly sexual manner. We now had the beadwoman, two bears, and a humping monkey seven inches from my face. The laughter contined.
When the fakir noticed that we remained unenticed by his monkey, the animal disappeared. He crept up to my window and began stroking it muttering something about rupees. I looked up and we all collapsed in laughter again. Noticing we still hadn't opened our window and given him money, he raised up to the window a damn cobra. A cobra, people. As Dr. McGrath said, "If he thinks showing us the snake is the best way to get us to roll down the window he has really misjudged his audience!"
The tears flowed, the laughter continued. Still probably not the reaction he was hoping for, but he really didn't want to give up.
Then our driver came back to rescue us as a clown (yes, a clown, in full getup and a plastic clown mask) walked down the street away from us. I guess someone told him that the circus was over and the foreigners were on the move.
See anything interesting, Bauman?
Nah. Who are you kidding. *whistles generic circus theme and walks away with her hands in her pockets*

So it looks like I'm waiting until the 18th. Unless people want to make it a road trip and go to Ann Arbor. I love Ann Arbor and I love people so that would be awesome but it still wouldn't happen until after the 11th.
I love you all.

Bleh.
I worked for five hours today, over 6 yesterday and Sunday.
I don't even know what day it is anymore.
Tomorrow I work at school for five hours (sitting down! excitement!), Thursday I work both school and Meijer (all day school 9-5 and 6:30 to 11 at Meijer) then I work all day at school then at Meijer (9-4:30 at school and 8 or 8 and a half to midnight).
I'm almost to the weekend. As I mentioned before, Nick and I are going to Cleveland on Saturday. His work has some celebratory "we rock at making money" thing. We'll be leaving at 10 in the morning on Saturday and returning at some random time on Sunday. Yay, weekend with the boyfriend.
This was pretty pointless and you didn't really learn anything.
Oh, I'm EXAUSTED and SORE ALL OVER.
I love you all.
P.S. I almost forgot. Working last night at Meijer, the electricity went out at about a quarter to 10. It was neat because everything went really dark except my little cashier screen and then the generator power came on and it was really quiet. Driving home was awesome! It was constant thunder and lightning with a teeny bit of rain but the roads were soaked. My windshield wipers had this neat strobe effect.
P.P.S. I'm excited about tomorrow. Episode two of the new season of Project Runway and no Meijer work. Booyaka.
P.P.P.S I forgot. Geoducks look like giant penises.
