"I, Patrick Jay French, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
Thats what I was saying yesterday at about 2PM for the Navy. I've got a 6 year contract active, 2 reserve, currently shipping on April 5 2010, however ill be submitting a form saying id like to roll it up a ways if possible to sometime in late July.
I went to Lansing MI Thursday, and took the ASVAB that night, (a score of 36 is passing, 99 is the best you can do), and by the grace of god, I managed to score an 88, which came as a huge shock to me. At the same time, however, it opened up almost every job the Navy had to offer to me, but ill get to that in a moment. My current job is in the Advanced Electronics / Computer Field which has the 9 weeks of basic training in Great Lakes, IL, and then 12, or 17 weeks further training based on which of the two subclasses you get into. This job guarantees the rank of E4 (petty officer 3rd class) upon completion of training, which is pretty huge, since it would take quite a while to get there otherwise. However, since I did so well on the ASVAB, and since some of my more specific scores worked out, I may be eligible to take the Navy Advanced Programs Test, which, if I pass, would allow me to get into their jobs in the Nuclear field, which would be absolutely phenomenal. The Nuclear job fields carry a 25k enlistment bonus, and a 60k re-enlistment bonus as it was described to me. Passing this is obviously my goal, since when I got out, I'd be making 100k easy in a civilian job. The test however, is very algebra, geometry and trigonometry based, and math has always been my weak point, so we'll see what happens there. The nuke program is 9 weeks of basic, and something like a year and a half of training elsewhere, (SC I think), and carries an 8 year commitment, which i'm WAY more then ok with.
So ya, thats my update.

The best family ever!
I'm now entirely convinced, that I have the best family in the entirety of the world. But before telling that little story i gotta tell this one...
I just passed 6 months at MC, which means review and raise time, which is exciting! Thankfully, my busting my ass actually paid off and i got the full 50 cent an hour possible raise that you can get, putting me at only 9 an hour, but 9 an hour with FULL benefits and a 401k. So to celebrate, i went to the airsoft store in grand rapids after work, and bought myself a nice backup weapon for 80ish dollars, exciting shit right? Well someone also told my car that i got a raise, and it decided it wanted it, so it broke down on the way home...less then exciting. So my uncle steve, who most of you know i live with, stops off and gets my uncle george, who is amazing with fixing cars, and we tow the effer home behind my uncle steves van and push it into the garage. Long story short, my cars ignition control module went out, and we changed it, the car works now, starts as soon as the starter is engaged, which is awesomesauce. So anyways, the fact that they were so willing to help out at the drop of a hat really makes you appreciate that sort of thing. Coincidentally, my uncle george has been doing alot of research into our family's genealogy, and i found out, im 50% irish, and 50% polish. that was also exciting, as you could imagine.
Mandie is here too finally, again, very exciting, and i cant wait till we can move out and into the apartment, a bit of freedom will be nice, the bills however will be lacking the nice-ness. thats pretty much all i got i guess, other then mandie is 100% win. haha

so i had my first airsoft game this weekend, that was pretty fucking spectacular, 0 kills, 0 deaths, but 8 heals so it wasnt totally shit-tastic in that aspect. now for teh picz
Im in ur fighting position, peepin your troop movements
Team Lake Shore's other medic and I
hard at work defending the objective IMO
this is what i get for bringing teh leet healz
and finally, a team screenshot.
in other news, ill either be moving into an apartment in the upcoming months, or buying a house depending on what kind've loan i can get. Work is going great as usual, although i now hate kayaks...VERY much, oh, and bikes too >.>
ive found me someone special, which pretty much fills that gap that has been lurking for the last like, 10 months, shes made of win, plays teh CoD4, and isnt completely against playing airsoft either! Another definite hax on her part. Things are definitely moving faster then id like, but under the circumstances i wouldnt have it go down any other way really.

1994 Ford Taurus SHO 150k miles
-loss of reverse
1991 Ford Taurus SHO+ 143k miles
-A-wal differential pin through the case on the highway
1999 Ford Contour 97k miles
-Unknown Transmission problem, cost to replace 1400-2200 dollars + "X" for the cost of fixing brakes again (been 3 months, dont break hard or anything, rotors warping again)
well, ford can lick my balls, now i need to pray i can get a 1500-2200 dollar loan from a bank or something since the contour gets worse daily so i can buy a fucking reliable car. IE, a Honda. cheaper on gas and insurance anyways.

zomg update
so, its been a while again, figured i was due.
got a job, absolutely love LOVE it! i work mon-friday 6am-2pm, pretty much the greatest hours ever, in a place im already familiar with(for example, i've worked there 3 weeks, known my boss for 14 years) making 8.50 an hour to start doing something i fucking love! just that would be great in and of itself...BUT wait! theres more!!! after my 3 months probationary shit, i can start health, dental and life insurance, as well as my 401k, and this i wont use, but i can get a membership to champion fitness for like 20 bucks a month, like they pick up 75% of the cost or somethin like that. oh...and i get a 20% discount at all MC stores, which is also cool.
anyways, what i do is drive around on a hi-lo for most of the day "picking" orders for all of our various stores, its simple as shit, you can DEFINATELY tell your making some progress, which is why i like it so much i think, like...a fucking monkey could do this. you look at a pick ticket with an asston of stickers on it, you just go find whats on the stickers, put it on a pallet, put the sticker on it and your done. however some of the pick ticket sheets are taller then i am ahah. oh, and we do ALLL the heavy stuff at my warehouse, like treadmills, weight racks, pool tables (fucking expensive ones), trampolines, etc, if MC has it and its more then a couple hundred pounds and you bought it, i probably picked it.
stuff outside of work:
being lonely is a bitch
me and my car arent quite on speaking terms since its a homo faggot if i go any farther then home to work and from work to home.
i decided today i hate new cars, because just to change my headlight bulbs i had to take the entire lens out and the grill off to get at them, and then i find out i gotta buy new lenses anyways...thank god for ebay though, got a pair of new ones for the price of ONE new one from a normal internet store.
i think thats it though, hope everyones doin great! i havent been this "me" in a long ass time, like since me and lizzy first started dating, now thats back in the fuckin day right there
OH!
also, eden got karma'd, ROFLROFLROFLROFL at them!
