This is mostly for Kyle but also for anyone else who might not have seen this when I first posted it:
There's a Madison Greene concert monday night at 6. It's at Calvin College, and it's free, so let me know if you want to go.
My car was a million degrees today.
I've been thinking lately that sitting on the floor during lunch signifies our marginalization in a rigid, impersonal culture that refuses to address its flaws. Or I'm just crazy.

School, Clearchannel, and lemmings
School was....long today. As it was yesterday. It's only the 2nd day and it seems like I've been there a year. I switched out of physics and I'm in physics concepts now. It didn't screw up my schedule to much. I just have psychology now instead of environment. Hopefully I can still get into U of M without a lot of hard science classes.
I found out about a radio show that sounds really cool. It's called Coast to Coast AM. It's about aliens and stuff. The catch is, the only affiliate in Grand Rapids is Wood 1300. Which is a Clearchannel station. And I hate Clearchannel with a passion. And I want it to die. But at the same time I want to listen to the damn alien radio show! Which makes me hate Clearchannel even more for torturing me. But alas, I cannot go against my principles. Fuck Clearchannel.
And also fuck Disney. In a 1958 movie they pushed lemmings off a cliff, which brought about the rumour that lemmings commit suicide. Which they don't. Misleading animal abusers. The end.

So I just about made it thru the first day of school. And now you get to hear (read) about it.
French 4- It's combined with French 3. And there's only 5 French 4 kids including me. But Rachel's in it. So that's cool.
AP Lit- That's gonna be hard. But probably fun. I've already read Catcher in the Rye, which is one of the books we'll read. So yeah.
Senior Comp-2 English classes in a row! With Connolly. There's a lot of slackers in this class, so it should be easy.
Environment- Plants and stuff. Another slacker class.
Physics-Pretty sure I'm switching out of this. It turns out Pre-calc is a pre-requesite. I nearly had a nervous breakdown about half an hour ago over this stupid class. But I'll write about that tomorow, maybe. Probably I'll switch into physics concepts and mess up my schedule so this whole entry will be pointless.
Drawing- Self-explanatory. A nice class to end the day.

Obscure music rant #....I lost track
Sign the petition to get out of print St. Vitus records re-released. It only takes 2 seconds, and a lot of people want 'em. Including me. The url makes the page fat so....

That's the suckiest part about listening to obscure music. Not being able to find it. Not even on ebay. Actually, once I saw one of their live albums on ebay for $400. Yeah.
Did you know Dead Meadows first 2 albums are out of print because their old label went under? I'm glad I got 'em.
So yeah. Help the cause for doom fans everywhere.

I just got back from bowling. I got 17 and 37, respectively. For I am such an awesome bowler. And now I'm sitting here. What should one do with her last full night of freedom?

Basically, 2 russian planes went down on tuesday. The earlier reports were all saying different things, but this one says they were hijacked. Sound familiar?
Have any of you seen this on the news or anything? I haven't.

:: Music: Little Feat
If you'll be my dixie chicken...
So I went to the Little Feat show last night... with my parents. Heh. Anyway it was a really good show. But at first the crowd was really lame because they were all sitting down and I was like "What the fuck! It's Little Feat! Is everyone here too cool to get excited over Little Feat?!" But of course I was sitting down too, because I was being a conformist and part of the lame, too-cool-to-get-excited crowd.
Then, on about the 3rd song this drunk guy got up and started dancing. All by himself. So then a lot of other people got up and danced too. Then, the drunk guy wandered over to me all tipsy-like and was like "I've never seen you here before," and was like, "yeah, um I don't really come here that often..." And so then he was like "Well, I'll be right back." He never came back. So, Mr. Drunk Guy, if you're reading this, I would like you to know that you, sir, are my hero, because you got up and danced when no one else did. I hope that one day I will have the courage you displayed last night.
But back to Little Feat. They kicked ass and played Spanish Moon, Dixie Chicken, Fat Man in the Bathtub, Tennesee Jed, Rock and Roll Doctor, Willin', and a bunch of others. And all the songs were probly around like 10 minutes each. They jam a lot.
So then, after the show, a lot of us were waiting for Tony Gates (from LAV) to show up cuz he told a bunch of people he could get them backstage. He never showed. But I got a setlist from the roadies, and the bass player and the guitarist came out so I got them to sign it. Then some random fan gave me a guitar pick with the Little Feat logo on it. Hell, yes.
So, summarry: Little Feat kicks ass, drunk guy is my hero, Little Feat kicks more ass, Tony Gates is a flake, cool mementos, Little Feat kicks yet more ass. The end.

:: Music: Thick as a Brick-Jethro Tull
Your wisemen don't know how it feels....
....to be thick as a brick.
My record player is broken. So I'm listening to Jethro Tull downstairs on the common record player. Tonight I'll have to bug my dad to fix my record player. If he can. I have so much vinyl in my room and not enough time or the means to listen to it all. So I'm just overjoyed that it exsists. I don't think any one is following this and my favorite part of the song is coming up so bye.

I went to Jam on the Grand today, which is where I go jam with old hippies and other folk music-obsessed people on the grand river. It's fun. I played guitar for 6 hours today. And now I'm typing. My fingers hurt. I slaughtered Black Throated Wind by the Grateful Dead. But they liked it anyway. So probably this is really incoherent. But that's ok.
Um yeah so summarry: jammed on folk tunes for 6 hours, fingers hurt, screwed up Grateful Dead song. That is really all you need to know. Bye now.

So I got my schedule fixed today. With no help from my counseler. See, I had psych II before I had psych 1 so he was doing all these crazay things to my schedule and switching everything around until I was like "Can't I just drop psych 2?" So that's what I did. And now I have sociology instead. I would have had to drop either environment or drawing if I listened to my counseler. And I am so not dropping mickey classes my senior year. So the moral of the story: school counselors know nothing. Well, at least mine doesn't.
Lyrics that more or less describe my life and worldview.

Madison Greene is gonna be at Calvin College on monday, sept. 6. They're a folk/tribal group. They're really good. The concert starts at 6, so it wouldn't go too late. And it's free. So who wants to go?
If you wanna hear 'em, check out www.madisongreene.com or you could borrow my cd's. So yeah.

:: Music: Halo
Hi. I'm at Ben's house. And Ben's at Meijers. So I'm writing this. And Rachels playing Halo. It's exciting. Ben has a weird keyboard. And a weird mouse. The keys are springy. Yeah. So this was pointless basically. But it was fun. Ben has quite a Mountain Dew can collection and a pretty knife that isn't sharp. But you might be able to poke someones eye out with it.
We had orientation today. I got psychology II first semester and psychology 1 second semester. So I think I'll have to change that. I'll maybe post my schedule at some point but not right now cuz I'm lazy. And will have to change it anyway. Sorry, that was redundant. I think I've wasted enough of your time, if you're even still reading this, whoever "you" are. Bye.

God I'm bored. I tried calling Rachel twice on her cell phone like she begged for someone to do but I didn't get an answer. I tried writing an essay for a college application but I couldn't get past the 2nd paragraph. So now I'm sitting here. Writing this. If anyone wants to do something tonight or tomorow call me. Please.
