| i've been thinking... yeah... thinking and actually this conversation sums it up. volleyballchix8: i need some new music... Tuwang128: FENIX TX!! volleyballchix8: alot of mine is getting kind of stale volleyballchix8: ah..i've heard of them Tuwang128: get threesome Tuwang128: awesome volleyballchix8: alot of people at band camp listin to fenix tx Tuwang128: Picture's on the wall just waiting there to fall Tuwang128: Still remind me that painful holiday can almost hear you say Tuwang128: Please don't miss me too long Tuwang128: What did I do wrong Tuwang128: Could've sung a different song you were my tune Tuwang128: Could've sung a different song you were my tune Tuwang128: And I'm all right without you Tuwang128: The days go by the nights don't change Tuwang128: The stars still spell out your name Tuwang128: thank you volleyballchix8: i like the last line the best Tuwang128: it's just awesome volleyballchix8: yeah volleyballchix8: i just need to download a bunch of new songs and crazy bands Tuwang128: dyou see dani Tuwang128: not the attitude to have Tuwang128: cuz then your gonna end up Tuwang128: and have 500 bands, and not really know music Tuwang128: only band names Tuwang128: you have to feel music Tuwang128: it's not something you can just rush into volleyballchix8: ugh kevin.. im not rushing Tuwang128: alright then volleyballchix8: i have more of an appreciation for music than most Tuwang128: yeah you deffinitely do volleyballchix8: different kinds of music too because i practice 3 instruments every single day volleyballchix8: but i suppose that doesn't have much to do with it volleyballchix8: maybe she thinks she's a musician Tuwang128: hmm, listening to music , and playing music are two different things Tuwang128: but she's just wierd Tuwang128: she likes all these really crappy punk bands volleyballchix8: heh volleyballchix8: but listining to music just for noise and listining to it for the lyrics is different too Tuwang128: yeah, but lyrics are only one aspect Tuwang128: ok volleyballchix8: yeah Tuwang128: I like 311 because the musical compisition and the lyrics put together, along with the many styles that they bring, just makes good music Tuwang128: like most adults can listen to 311 and say, hey, this isn't so bad volleyballchix8: right... volleyballchix8: i like 311 volleyballchix8: who here likes 311???/ Tuwang128: *raises hand* volleyballchix8: that's an inside joke Tuwang128: yeah volleyballchix8: anyways...back to music volleyballchix8: well how do you really "know" music? Tuwang128: hmm, well, it's hard to say Tuwang128: you just know when someone KNOWS music Tuwang128: yeah Tuwang128: like Mikey knows music Tuwang128: you know music Tuwang128: you really have to play an instrument, and dedicate yourself to it like you and I, and mikey, and Robby do Tuwang128: and Dusty Tuwang128: he KNOWS music volleyballchix8: yeah... Tuwang128: you get what I'm saying Tuwang128: ? volleyballchix8: yeah i do volleyballchix8: i do alot now Tuwang128: I'm trying not to sound like I am a musical genius or something volleyballchix8: because all the people you just named that know music.... play an instrument whole heartly and love it like no other volleyballchix8: i nkow Tuwang128: yeah, I don't know music well, but I KNOW it volleyballchix8: yeah... i think you know it well volleyballchix8: better than me Tuwang128: well, it's just, yeah Tuwang128: I'm trying not to be, I know music better than you, you know volleyballchix8: yeah... i know Tuwang128: but it makes me mad when people talk about music like they know it, and then don't really know volleyballchix8: me too.... volleyballchix8: i really don't think i know bands well...but i do know my instruments without a doubt Tuwang128: yeah, listening to a whole bunch of different bands doesn't make you know music any better Tuwang128: like, alright Tuwang128: when Nirvana came out, they were genius's , because they had this style of music that they created, Tuwang128: but then like now, all these bands like saves the day, and new found glory, and taking back sunday, and thursday, all sound the same Tuwang128: well, they just lack musical enginuity Tuwang128: but 311, Incubus, Sugar Ray, and Ben FOlds, Blink182, they all have their own unique sound to where you can here one of their songs and say, that's Blink182, or 311, or Incubus. Tuwang128: not that all their songs will sound the same Tuwang128: just that you can distinguish their style volleyballchix8: yeah.... i feel like i don't know music though because i don't listen to alot of different bands volleyballchix8: yeah... Tuwang128: well, knowing bands isn't what you want to know Tuwang128: you have to know the types of music Tuwang128: like Ska, Reggae, Rock, Pop Tuwang128: etc. etc. volleyballchix8: ahh... i love ska! Tuwang128: just try listening to them, and find bands that play that music well and listen to them Tuwang128: then you get your bands, and a greater knowledge volleyballchix8: fun :-) volleyballchix8: even though i complain about practicing and going to my big scary strict flute teacher... i love it Tuwang128: yeah, you still do it volleyballchix8: i do...and i enjoy it... Tuwang128: then you know music volleyballchix8: have you ever heard of nick drake? Tuwang128: no volleyballchix8: ah.. he's cool... volleyballchix8: i like his song pink moon... i heard it on a tv commercial the other day and spazed because i had it on my list volleyballchix8: it's a cute little song Tuwang128: Oh, I finally listened to Wonderwall Tuwang128: that's a nice song volleyballchix8: you did!!! volleyballchix8: i love that song! volleyballchix8: haha anyways...that's how i feel... so yeah... i need to practice alot because if i don't i'll get my ass chewed out at lessons tomorrow. ahhh... i have to have all 12 major scales memorized by next week. then minor scales!! fun!!! wooo!! by the way...before i go.. i forgot to mention... 10 days till camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and ... 375 days till wolverine band camp 2003!!! hahahahaha!!! |
