Current mood: cold Music: System Of A Down - Spiders Subject: \m/ <---- the "rock on" sign |
|
Before The Storm had their first show last night. We rocked it man. I mean, obviously most 16 year old girls aren't going to really get into our music, especially if it's the first time ever hearing it. We also had a few other things against us, including the cold and our singer. We played in the garage and it was really loud in there so everyone was on the driveway outside and it was night and like 45 degrees, so everyone was freezing and a lot of people would leave and go inside, come back out and leave again. But it didn't bother me. Lou was there rockin' out to every song with us. Our singer sucks. Thats why we told him to get lessons or we're gonna have to fish around for a new one, and he took that as a total insult, even though we were just trying to be helpful, y'know? We didn't say it trying to mean at all. But anyways, we asked him to sing for us tonight, just so we'd have a singer. But after we played our first set we went and mingled and ate and screwed around for awhile. And that's when the mother of the daughter who's birthday it was asked us if we could play our next set without the singer. Then she went and asked him personally. I don't know how it went, I avoided looking in that direction because I felt bad for him. It was sad, but then again, its a total sign. If the audience is requesting to just hear the music w/out the singer, that means something. So I guess he got pissed and got a ride home with someone else. But the next two sets we played with just the music, we rocked the fuck out. I mean, when we practice Matt jumps around and tries to get us to get into it, but I'm mostly just concentrating on getting better at my parts, but during the show I was throwing my head around and just goin at it, along with Kyle and Matt the three of us were rockin man! Then Lou would come up and jump on our backs and stand there and rock out, it was awesome. I wasn't nervous at all, even during my solo parts. I had such a blast, oh man, I can't even describe how it felt, I was just a constant smile afterwards, because it felt so damn good. The middle finger on my plucking hand is split open slightly and the index finger has a monster blood blister, so that just proves I fuckin rocked out. WOOT! P.S. We got paid $100 |
