Tell me which poem you like better. Tell me why too, if you can, but you don't need to.

I used to believe
Believed in you
What you told me
And what you could do

A hero
A valiant man
Will you be him?
Is there any way you can?

Winded and weak
Yet you still stand tall
Never hiding
Never going to fall

A pure soul
A heart longing to heal
Waiting as you fight
You're so very real

You're brave
You're alive
You're strong
You'll survive

You are my hero.

-OR-

Sitting at the window
Watching the world go by
Rushing through the days
The city will never die

Each person lost in a sea
In a crowd of nameless faces
They never cease to hurry
Always going to countless places

I see them walk right past
Behind my transparent boundry
I've been waiting for so long
Yet no one has ever found me

They'll never notice this
Poor soul behind the glass
Not even a glance my way
As they quickly go on past

Lost in their own mind
That's the way of the city
Like another manufacturer
Lacking compassion and pity

The Second one, denfinetly., 11-05-03 5:29am

Because I relate to it more, I guess. And because I don't believe in Hero's so much.

Not that the first one wasn't lovely! I just like the second one better.

I love 'em both. But, I'd have to say I liked the second one better. Because, as everybody else has said, I can relate to it more. I guess other people can as well.

They were both beautiful. ( ;

Later days.

I like them both, but I'd have to say the second one. It's more compassionate and more poetry like. Good job on both of them though.

I'd have to say I like the second one better. It tells how the world works, how people look upon other people... and one thing that I noticed was how someone would just walk past someone else, without giving them a glance... and if you think about it, that's kind of how the world works. You have to have so much of this, or so much of that to be considered equal or good in life. Sorry my comment was so long. Great job Kate.

I like the second one better. It sounds like you believe in it more, and that helps the reader feel it.

I like both of them a lot. But I think the second one is really truthful and I can relate to it more than the first. But no matter what, Rock on and write on!!
