The chromatic scale is so freaking stupid. I hate Estelle today. She's being stubborn and untalanted. I hate stupid unnaturally high F, G and G#. and like some idiot I worked so hard to get those high notes that I didn't even think about the desending side. I'm really bad at it. Roar.

I'm quite scared that I'm going to start freaking out and mess up and then all my hard work will be for naught. I feel very much like a failure.

Don't feel like a failure.

I have never been good at tryouts... the only reason I was in wind ensemble last year was because one of the tenors in it wanted to play Alto... so I took their spot. I believe that I have been one of the best tenors he has ever had, he even said so, but I was still in concert band for two years.

Possible outcomes:
Wind Ensemble
Concert Band

that's it.. nobody cares if you don't do well on tryouts, specifically on scales... where it's you and a camera, maybe one person in the room operating the camera.

But... I have been in band for 7-8 years... and I probably couldn't play the stuff you have to play on the clarinet... heh.

As a player of the clarinet, you are an artist, with the imperfections of a human. You will get better and better at the notes, it just takes playing in band. I've heard you play... you're alot better than lots of those silly clarineters... especially bowman.

You are good... don't worry about the title of the class you're in... I believe in ya!

:-P

That means a whole lot to me. Thank you. I was just about to give up for today now I've decided that would make me some kind of failure for not trying right? Like all those stupid posters say.

But I don't want to repete the concert band thing. My section will have a vast majority of bad players in it. No one will take it seriously and I'll never improve. And I'll have to change my schedual. It's nerve wracking all the same. He should just say..."You're a good player, wind ensemble or YOU SUCK get the hell out of here!"

That would rock.
