Subject: sooo annoying...
So my mom somehow finds out that I've written all this crap about a certain incident that happened recently involving one of my teachers at school and tells me, at like 10:15 as i'm getting ready for bed, that I'd better delete it all because if the administration found out and it got back to that teacher, I could be kicked out of Ambassadors. (Essentially...so I basically thought the admissions process was unfair and I was being given an unfair chance at being admitted to the organization.)

So ANYWAY, a few entires have been made private (friend's only, so sign in guys on my friend's list) and I've deleted bits and pieces.

I STILL have those raidical ideas about how this is FREEDOM OF THE 'PRESS' and if not that, FREEDOM OF SPEECH, GODDAMNIT!! This is MY JOURNAL, and I think I can write what I damn well want to! And besides, I'll tell that teacher to her face if she asks that I was incredibly angry with her for her shortness towards me as I tried to apply for Ambassadors. I felt like I was being given less of a chance!! She DIDN'T really give me a chance, either!

So whatever. Just a heads up that some stuff is now gone. God, this is annoying. I shouldn't have to censor my stuff in order to feel safe from the school admin. That's definitely not cool.

I don't mean to be rude... just clarifying the whole "Freedom of Speech" thing.

Yes, you are legally entitled to write whatever you want in your journal. BUT, when you start really hurting someone's feelings, you and I both agree that this would be stepping over the line. *this is referring to the whole ross thing*

Anyways, the school now has to keep an eye on it to make sure that his feelings aren't further hurt, and there is a possibility that they would tell Mrs. Williams, who would then realize your ungratefulness to being approved for Ambassadors.

Also, Freedom of Speech/the Press is limited to the truth. If you are going around blabbing lies, then its not exactly fair to whoever you are talking about. Not to say that you are telling straight-out lies, but your situation can be interpreted differently. For instance, I disagree with the fact that you were given less of a chance to get into Ambassadors. Your application may have been considered late, but it was still considered nonetheless, just like everyone else's applications. In my opinion, just because she read yours late doesn't mean she didn't give you the same chance for getting in as anyone else.

Just wanted to share some other views about the Free Speech thing. Don't take this the wrong way, wasn't trying to be mean!

to clarify..., 05-03-04 7:22pm

i suppose my situation could have been interpereted differently, but from my point of view, i was pretty much given "the hand" (aka 'talk to the hand, cuz the face ain't listening) the entire way through my admissions process. mrs. williams neither told me WHEN the app needed to be handed in, nor did she read any of my forms until my mom complained.

and mer, you ARE crazy. way to be on my side, tho! haha.

I agree with both you and Ali. You are entitled to be angry and post, because if you're anything like me hand writing is tiring and boring. why hand write what you can type? But Ali and your mom have a good point, if she were to somehow find out it would be the end of the Ambassadors. Wish i had more to say, but I don't. too tired. Much love, Deanna
