I'm really starting to get sick of algebra. I filled up an entire page in my tiny writing with formulas and other "necessary" things for the final. Then I realized that I was going to die no matter what and I decided to stop studying for a while. I can't stay in my room between five and seven because the temperature gets up to around eighty-five or higher. For someone who wears pants all the time and doesn't particularly feel like changing, that is way too hot. Of course, my parents won't turn on the air because the rest of the house is perfectly fine. My room's always the hottest in the summer and the coldest in the winter. It's fun. If my computer doesn't overheat and shut down, I may post pictures later. We need a new heat sink/fan, and soon. Too bad Dell is closed today. I love technology. What does everyone think about the S410 for a new digital camera? For some people, this might mean getting married to someone they love. That's what has been missing from this debate: Love. Ah, love. Isn't it sweet? Sweet man on man love! (I have a feeling that those opposed to gay marriage don't mind a little girl on girl love). I can't imagine telling to a gay couple that they can't get married. I couldn't deny them that. I don't see how it would harm anyone. It doesn't change someone else's marriage. I don't know how this infringes on the "sanctity" of your Elvis Chapel wedding in Vegas. I haven't heard a compelling argument against it and that burden lies on those opposed to it. If you don't believe in gay marriage, then fine: marry someone of the opposite sex. The benefits to society are the same. Marriage provides structure, security. How does that change if the couple is gay? I do not care if the bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself? I do not care if marriage has been between a man and woman for hundreds of years. We change, we (some of us) evolve. I'm glad we're not living the same way we did when marriage was created. I'm glad definitions have changed. I'm glad we don't still believe that the sun revolves around the earth or that the earth is flat. If I was gay, I would probably say that you can take your church and state sanctioned union and shove it. But then I would be denied the legal aspects a marriage provides a couple. Like visiting my mate in the hospital on his deathbed. Some people fear that allowing gay marriage will legitimize the lifestyle they find so abhorrent. It's not their business and their opinion doesn't matter. What ever happened to the Republican Party that stayed out of people's bedrooms? They fear that this will send the message to children (the children! the children!) that this behavior is normal (even though it occurs in most species). It's not your place to say if it's OK or not. Again, if you're against homosexuality, then make sure you only have sex with the opposite gender. It's pretty easy to do that. Unless you go to prison -- let me tell you. Another concern is that it is harmful to children to raise them in this fabulously gay environment. Even though there is no evidence to support this, once again, it's not your place. Raise your own kids. And I bet divorce is far more harmful. Perhaps it is better if children are raised by a man and a woman, but I would take a two person gay household over a single-parent household any day. So if you're worried about the children (the children! the children! a favorite political pawn), then better outlaw divorce along with gay marriage. And don't give me this stuff about a slippery slope, how if we allow this then we have to allow polygamy and incest and guys marrying their dogs. Giving women the right to vote didn't make it okay for Iggy (my cat) to vote too. - Tom Walter |

sparkythefool | Re:, 05-31-04 11:50pm That's exciting indeed. I find it funny that it would cost just a tiny bit more than my current camera did, and the S410 has twice the megapixels. It also has way more features..but I did buy mine over a year ago. They don't even make it anymore.
