Subject: I love this man. (I'm on a Smiths/Morrissey stint) |
|
In October 2004, Morrissey released a politically charged statement urging American voters to vote against George W. Bush for President. Morrissey's statement was: "With all my heart I urge people to vote against George Bush. Jon Stewart would be ideal, but John Kerry is the logical and sane move. It does not need to be said yet again, but Bush has single-handedly turned the United States into the most neurotic and terror-obsessed country on the planet. For non-Americans, the United States is suddenly not a very nice place to visit because US immigration officers — under the rules of Bush — now conduct themselves with all the charm and unanswerable indignation of Hitler's SS. Please bring sanity and intelligence back to the United States. Don't forget to vote. Vote for John Kerry and get rid of George Bush!" Don't read this part. On that note, I saw some commercial about telling your children where to go in case of a terrorist attack. It's like the Cold War: duck and cover. And it's completely irrational in my opinion. We have never worried about this terrorist crap before so I don't see why now it's such a big deal. Don't give me that "dangerous world filled with dangerous people" speech. The world is just as dangerous as it was when I was born. I can only see one reason as to why the world is more dangerous than it was: our incompetent president. I'm so tired of scare tactics. It is like the Cold War. I love you all. |

threshershark | 03-16-05 9:12pm I'm not saying you're right or wrong, but President Bush is not the only person responsible, you shouldn't blame only him for everything that you think is going wrong. Also, try getting your information from less biased sources. Morrissey comes across as an ego-maniac. |
Angel_Bob | Re:, 03-16-05 9:57pm Kyle, I'm not. Kyle, Morrissey is an ego-maniac. He's also gay if that's going to offend you more. He also sometimes says things just to make people mad. I did not say I agreed with everything he said, I just CTRL+C and CTRL+V'd a quote that I found entertaining then rambled about my opinions and beliefs on one small topic when I did not have enough room or time to fully develop such things.

threshershark | Re: Re:, 03-16-05 10:05pm Aw, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound mad. I just do not know about politics, I've been trying to stay out of them. |
threshershark | Re: Re:, 03-16-05 10:10pm And for cryin out loud, gay people do not offend me.

Angel_Bob | Re: Re: Re:, 03-16-05 10:56pm I don't know anything about politics either, I was just spouting things that I have been brainwashed with for my entire life.

jaganshi | 03-17-05 12:02am Where did they tell kids to go? |
shinigami | Re:, 03-17-05 9:58am It's more of a comertial trying to scare parents into thinking that there's going to be a terrorist attack. These little kids are there asking questions about where to go in case of a terrorist attack, like it's going to happen tomorrow. |
iron-cipher | 03-17-05 8:11am I find it quite intriguing when so many people call this country arogant because of the leader that we have. First and for most this is a flawed way of thinking considering how little any of us actually know about running the goverment or what is actually going on. More importantly it is stupid that people are so willing to talk about how much bush infringe's right and ect... when it's the second time that we have taken a vote and the majority (electorial College) has asked him to be our presideint twice. If we were to get rid of him that would be infringe on the will of the masses, and since the goverment is for the people by the people. I thik people should go out and think for themselves find the cold hard facts, develop a logical opinion supported by more than feeling and then just maybe open their mouth, no not to complain though, if they really had this countries best in mind then they would be trying to help improve the country regardless of the leader, and instead people like to say how they feel on the matter even though we are all little puppets when it comes to the way you feel. Over 13 Billion dollars were spent on the super bowl to make yuo feel a certain way and a majority of the authority figures present where cartoons or animals. Americans don't think, they speak. |
