Subject: From Work Update

alright. looks like mom is going to pick up the mini tomorrow sometime. it's in chicago.

we're on 9 hours today. have been all week. we're also scheduled for up to six hours on saturday. so that's, 45 hours, plus 6, 51 hours.

i suppose my bank account will love me for the 11 hours of time-and-a-half, but my dogs are barkin', let me tell ya.

this job is not good for your body. but i'm definitely firming up. i have to drink more water. and i should do at least one bowl of keto-bran flake-buds a day.

i have also ascertained that my vocal range is a smidgen over 2 octaves. and i don't own it all. i find that depressing. oh well. we have ways of improving. eventually.

oop. stuff's dropping. time to go.

From work update! wow. do they have computers in the break room?

"time-and-a-half" A.K.A. OVERTIME. lol.

Hopefully with time your job will get easier on you.

sorry this was so pointless.

they use the computers to communicate between different parts of the line. they print off papers describing what may be missing from an order, or what part goes with what order that is waiting in the boneyard. they also reorder parts that have been scrapped or refinished. and when the guys hang parts on the line, they enter it into the computer, so that way we can estimate when our stuff is coming, and can see exactly what orders and things are on the line.

you just HAD to ask, didn't you? ;)

yeah. it's already getting better for me. the key is remembering that "smarter, not harder" bit. if i think about how i'm using my body to do the work, it's almost like they're paying me to go to the gym. and i get to do something productive in the process, rather than lifting weights for the simple sake of lifting weights.

i'm still tired a lot though. not at work, but when i get home, i'm completely drained. and this weekend doesn't look as though it's going to be very rejuvenating.

i'll try and give you a call tonight... likely after 9pm. if not, sorry. i'll see you sunday. or i can try and call tomorrow. yeah. if not tonight, then definitely tomorrow.

i'm sure you'll want to come early on sunday? if you don't, that's fine. i'm just gonna wing it this weekend. it's looking like i'm gonna have to.

anywho. i think i've rambled long enough again. i'm killing time until our next run. and this is like the only time i can get on the computer anymore. i think i was supposed to take lunch. eddie never said anything to me about it... but it wouldn't be the first time. if this run is an hour, lunch will be around 1 or so. that's not too bad.

do i dare ask how your job hunt is going? or should i just leave it alone? well, anyway. i'm gonna go do stuff now... i.e. "pretend to work". it's what they pay me to do. pretend to work, and tolerate all the illogical bullcrap they can drum up. it's certainly not what i was expecting, but they pay pretty well to do it, so there.

thanks for the comments. they keep me going.

love, peace, and exceptional pecs.

(p.s. if i play my cards right, i'll have a surprise for you the next time i see you. hopefully it works out. it should. SHHHHHH!)

anytime you wanna fill me in on your dad's secret to eternal bliss... i could definitely use it. perhaps over coffee.. if we could ever find time w/ your steelcase-ing and my 11-hr-pool-slave-ness..

dad's secret to eternal bliss? my memory is failing me. not a good sign.

i guess he just lets things go. fears, worries, anger. just says "hey, it's out of my hands. and that's for the better."

oh, right. i suppose i can elaborate over coffee. actually, i've been meaning to check out Noshville in Ramblewood center...

it's good to hear that you made it in with the pools they DID open, i know you had been concerned about that.
