I dont know why I choose to update these. Maybe its because I know nobody but Jocelyn (sometimes) and the occasional person will read them, and certainly no one back in florida or in my unit, so it offers me a certain amount of secrecy. I can vent or just say whatever and trust that the other people arent going to read it. So heres this little nugget.

Coming to Iraq I fully expected to die. I figured because my job is one of the most dangerous ones the army offers and the fact that a scout wasnt expected to live long in combat.

So I figured I was going to die. And not only was I ready for it, but I kind of relished this fact. i know thats weird. But my biggest fear is to live an uneventful and insignifigant life, not leaving my mark in history. So if I died, I would die doing something brave, fighting for my country, being a hero. Well 3 months to go and im not dead lol.

I have no one to go home too, and when I leave the army I will have nothing at all. So I dont know what im going to do. I suppose just soldier on and figure some things out.

Someday you will have something or someone (or both) to live for, and it will have been worth all the times your life felt uneventful and insignificant in the past. You may not have it now, but you will. I speak from experience when I say that good things happen to those who believe in the possibilities, so don't give up hope. I promise you will have your day, and when it comes, make sure you're holding on tight.

I read what you write. :)

:) I'm happy I could cheer you up. I'm just someone who's been there before. Metaphorically speaking, of course. Despite all you've been through, I still think you might be a romantic at heart. I find that an endearing quality in others.

Keep fighting the good fight--I know I appreciate it. ;)

I'd say I probably check it every other day or so, whenever I check the blog of a friend of mine who uses woohu pretty often. I can stop though if you'd rather keep this private.

Nope not really anything specific, just fire away. Start at the basics and roll from there

Well I'm a northern girl, mid-twenties, currently a year away from graduating with my doctorate degree. Working on my American dream. I've been dating my best friend since I was 18, and next year I finally get to marry him. I don't have an over abundance of friends, but the ones I do have are pure gold. I'm sort of Type A and I'm usually a ball of stress, but I've been told I have a good sense of humor. I grew up in a small town and I love my family to death (and my dog). ;)

Thats the one downfall o being a soldier, I never had enough time to have a dog. I want to get another one. Ive always had rotweilers or golden retrievers
