Alright, so I met this guy through a dating website. I told him I was just looking for friends in the area, which was true. So we talked back and forth, in great detail, well thought out intelligent messages, not about sex or about things that don't let you get to know anyone at all, but about our own personal issues, what we're doing with our lives, how we feel about religion and other things. This all started on Sept. 30. I noticed he was cute, of course, and when I noticed that he was only 18, that peaked my interest, too. To be continued...

I had this huge crush on this kid I work with and then I found out he is a senior in high school this year. OOPS. He looked so much older. I ofcourse didn't know much about him but I hate when that happens! Or you find out someone is MUCH older than you thought they were. I met this guy at a party and he was 36, but was hanging out with a bunch of 22 year olds at a party... I was confused.

LOL yup, it happens! I've been both the older and younger object of affection. He and I get along really well but he's painfully shy. I'm almost positive that he likes me, too, but I don't think he even knows he does because he's pretty inexperienced and says he's never really been friends with a girl before. And go figure, Job Corps. called me on Monday and basically said, " Hey, guess what? Your start date is this Thursday! " I was WTF!?! I'm going, of course, but I just met this guy at the beginning of the month AND I just got a job that I haven't even trained at yet, so it SUCKS. It'll be good for me, I know, it's my only option to get an education or training or whatever you want to call it and I am really excited but I'm also scared and I don't want to leave this life behind ( mostly Nicky, the guy )! I just got used to and happy living in Keene, NH from moving here in August and now I have to move again in 1 1/2 days!!!

The job I got was right in Keene, NH, where I live. However, Job Corps. is a vocational training facility that has no centers in NH, so I had to move back to MA. The center I go to is in Chicopee. It's a REALLY shitty environment, but the program itself is good, so I'm just going to keep my headphones on, music blaring ( so I can ignore all the assholes that are there ) and keep a book and my journal nearby. And get out of there ASAP! How are you doing?

What kind of work are you doing, and do you know how long it will last?

I've been fine. Been working too much. That hurricane hit which wasn't too bad by me, just trees down everywhere.

Sorry for the long wait! We can only use the internet three days a week and at one specific location at Job Corps. I haven't been doing much of anything there so far, just killing time, basically, because the people running the program are a bunch of assholes. But when I finally DO start actually working towards the reason I'm putting myself through that hellish place, I'll be training to be a pharmacy technician. And I have to take one math class, but that's fine. I've been there for almost a month and they haven't had us do anything that's actually productive. It's pissing me off and the people on campus absolutely suck. So it's been a struggle. How have you been?

Glad to see you're doing well. How come they aren't having you do anything? Do you get paid for hanging out? And training to be a pharmacy technician sounds great. I've been good, thanks!

Re: Re: Re: , 11-24-12 11:06am

They aren't really having me do anything because the people in charge of running the center are incompetent. That's what it really comes down to. Yes, they pay us about $25 every two weeks and supposedly that will increase to $50 after we've been there for long enough, so that's good, but it's not really worth it. Hopefully the pharmacy technician training IS good. All other evidence I've collected about the Job Corps. center suggests that it won't be, but the instructor seems alright, at the very least nice, and if I haul ass I can hopefully get through the training in just a few months, but even after that I supposedly have to get 360 work-based learning hours before I can complete, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to go about getting those, but we'll see.
