2008 has been a roller coaster of emotions from good to bad.
So much has happened over the course of this year that I did not imagine would.

January: I found out I was going to be an aunt.
February: I started a new job.
March: Watched grown men fight in the middle of the street like they were on UFC. Oh, did I mention they were drunk?
April: I don't think anything really exciting happened then. I'll have to get back with you.
May: Got serious about starting college.
June: My 21st birthday, Stated college, and had a blast with summer cook-outs, my cousin got married.
July: Fireworks, a good friend was killed in a motorcyle accident.
August: A friend was killed in a drinking and driving accident, Mike's cousin moved in and then a few weeks later, Mikes mom passed away.
September: We moved into a house, I got a cat, and I became an aunt, my grandma was in the hospital for a long stay.
October: 3 year anniversary with Mike.
November: 7 years since my grandpa had passed.
December: Took the civil service test to be a corrections officer, got a dog, mike's cousins girlfriend moved in, mike's cousin and girlfriend moved out, fought with his girlfriend like a high schooler and drama began. 4 years since my grandma passed.

As usual there was a drama, there were tears, there was happiness, babies were born, and wedding vows were exchanged.

It wasn't a terrible year. Probably one of the better years.

Hopefully the rest of you enjoyed your year, and if you didn't hopefully you will make next year worth while.

I got a new DVD burner for christmas, that I have gotten a lot of use out of the last few days.
I got a really soft fleece blanket, that I use every night now, and my cat also enjoys it.
And lastly, I got a new Nikon coolpix L18 camera.
I was not expecting that either.

I spent Christmas day arguing with a dumb high schooler.

I still have Christmas with my mom, my dad and my aunt and uncle next weekend..
Should be fun!

Work tomorrow.. not excited for it..

Christmas Day.
Today is Christmas, and suprisingly we woke up later than I thought we would. We were going to wake up at about 7:30, but, I guess it was around 9 when we finally woke up. It was alot of fun. It was us, the Grandpa, and Aunt Beth. She ended up coming over this morning. We had two stockings each this year. One from "Santa", and then one from Wolverine/YMCA cos they "adopted" our family to help us out. So, it was a good Christmas this year. I don't really feel like going into detail about the things I got right now, because I am going to go watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas" with Ava, but, I hope everyone had a a good and happy Christmas. So, no more countdowns from me. Bye.

Christmas Eve.
Tomorrow is Christmas; the day I have been looking forward to since about November. And now, it's all going to be over soon in less than 24 hours. Oh well, at least we are the kind of people that keep our tree up until the middle of January. HaHa. My Aunt Beth is supposed to come over tonight, but, we don't know if she's still going to. Then tomorrow morning she's going to be here and so will our Grandpa Bennett. So, I'm excited. I'm also really excited to see the reactions of Mom, Doug, Bri, Dylan, Montanna, and Ava when they open the presents I got them. I'm going to say what I got them all, but you can't tell. HaHa.
-Mom: A very nice photo album and I already put some pictures in there. Ranging from us kids, all the way to pictures of her as a baby.
-Doug: Two Stephen King books. The first one being "The Green Mile", and then "The Bachman Books", which is four novels in one book.
-Brianna: Fuschia Semi Perminant hair dye.
-Dylan: A Breaking Benjamin CD.
-Montanna: A Tinkerbell purse.
-Avalyn: "Parachute Pig". It's a stuffed animal pig that has a parachute with a back pack and all included. It's pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

So, that's what they got. Not much, but, I did my best.
Tomorrow, we will, of course, wake up early and have our usual Hot Chocolate and Cinnamon Rolls. We will open presents, enjoy them for a little bit, then chaos will erupt. We will have to all get ready to go to my Aunt Diane's for lunch/dinner. And HOPEFULLY we will be able to go to my Grandma Schrivener's tomorrow after Aunt Diane's. I love it up at my Grandma's. Especially around the Holidays. There's like 150 people packed into a double wide trailer(that's not the part I like, in fact, I loathe that part), and there's a million things of food, and as for dessert...oh boy. There's way more than enough to go around. There's everything from finger jello, to pies, to Ice creams, and more. I love it up there. Then the guest bedroom is always the official PS2 playing room. Everyone in the gathers and plays racing games, Guitar Hero, and more. Then of course, there is always Sabrina's husband Derrick and his Viking Hat while he's been drinking. HaHa. It's great times.

But, I have to try and stay awake because my mom and step dad need my help transporting the presents from their hiding spot to our house. And, I'm going to watch "The Dark Knight", and hopefully finish it because I have had it for 4 days and I have not been able to watch the whole thing. But, going to go do that. Bye, and everyone, Have a Merry Christmas. And don't forget to party hard. HaHa.

This is Mike's puppy: Tank
Both our pets sleep like this, how strange!

This is my kitty: Titty

So yesterday started off to be a bad day.
Dog got into the trash, and made messes on the floor.
But I got 75 dollars from work!
And then I waited around at my dads with my brother for my check..
Oh, and then I got stuck in the snow trying to turn around to go get my check.
So I waited for my daddy and my brother to come get me unstuck.
Quite the eventful day.

Now it is christmas eve, and I have to wrap presents, bake brownies for my dad and brother for getting me unstuck yesterday.. and then make my way to belding, and then to go up to black lake to have christmas with mike's daughter and whatnot..

Yay!

Ah, Christmas presents.
So, on Saturday our dad picked us up at about ten, and then I passed out on the couch immediately after arriving at his house. HaHa. But, the best was Sunday morning. We got our presents from him, our grandparents, and "Santa". I have to say, I have my own personal favourites when it came to what I got from them. The first being a box of herbal tea I got, it has a few different kinds of tea in it. It has the following: Chamomile, Peppermint, Lemon Zinger, Wild Berry Zinger, and Sleepy Time. Then, the second is a shit ton of art supplies I got. I got acrylic paints, sketch pads, a variety of pencils, erasers, sharpeners, paint palletes, and 25 brushes of different sizes and kinds. Then my Grandma T. got me "Twilight" and the new T.I. CD "Paper Trail". Those are my favourites.

So, one of these days, you will think to yourself "Hey, where is Samm, and why hasn't she posted anything?". I will be locked in my room, painting masterpieces, listening to T.I., and drinking awesome cups of tea. HaHa. Just so you know, that is where I will be. Or dead. HaHa.

OH! I almost forgot!!! I also got a new movie! "The Dark Knight". I was super happy when I opened it and realised it was now mine. Now, I will have one, and Doug(shh. He doesn't know yet) will have one.

And there are still presents coming. From Mom and Doug, whoever drew my name from the hat on one side of the family, and then doug's parents and grandma.

But, better be off. Have to get laundry and some chores done so either Jess can hopefully come over, or so I can get closer to locking myself away with my presents. HaHa. Bye.

lengthy response to cJessicaPyne
i like what everyone has shared so far. and i agree with two specific points in particular:

1. that they (parents) serve as examples, both good and bad, which SHOULD be used by their offspring, to improve upon the foundation they laid by making appropriate adjustments.

2. that if they hadn't been for me whatever the hell it was that they were, i wouldn't be who i am today. and in order to be content with my current self, i HAVE to accept whatever predecessors brought that current self into being.

A. a running trend, in my life, and apparently in many others' as well, is that most trauma/conflict comes from emotional turbulence within the family (in the sense of a social microcosm).

B. there has also been a trend of physical violence, stemming from this emotional upset, and consequently creating a great deal more emotional turmoil in the recipient of the abuse, than was already present. as for me, i was never really physically abused. for a time, i dished out my fair share of physical abuse, though, so my experience differs from some of yours, to an extent. but it is exceedingly important to address this concern, as it does so much to exacerbate the problem, and can really get in the way of progressive improvement in the individual.

---------

my folks are pretty average. mom grew up in the country (blue water highway, between saranac and ionia), and is fucked up because her dad was abusive (not to the kids, but to their mother), and addictive (booze and cigarettes... also a theme which i'll get to in a minute), and so she assumes that everyone else will be too, and is hyper-sensitive to these issues, as she was the baby in her family (youngest of 4). she projects her problems and issues on to other people, accusing them of having all these things, all the while trying vehemently to "make them better," and at the same time ignoring the fact that she would be more help to them by fixing herself. she is the epitome of the person who feeds their kid tic tacs, because their parents never did. and she will never fully recognize how like my grandmother she really is. and she didn't fully succeed in removing her father's influence either, as she still has spurts of his bad temper (although much rarer and more subdued), as well as his "pack-rat-itis". She seriously can't throw ANYTHING away.

my dad was the 2nd of 4 kids, with one older brother, and 2 younger sisters. his family was much more suburban, and what you might call "traditional" (roman catholic, as a matter of fact). mom always refers to his parents as ward and june cleaver - which isn't entirely inaccurate, although perhaps unfair. all 4 of the siblings in the family were put under immense pressure by their parents (through subtle application of guilt - catholic, remember?) to excel in sports, academia, and pretty much everything else. all of them have spent much of their adult lives learning to deal with that inadequacy complex. grandpa and my dad's older brother both really liked their drink too, and dad was no different. he partied. a lot. all through high school (west catholic, if you're familiar), and beyond. got a job at steelcase, dropped out of junior college, bought a house, got married, had me, continued drinking, moved to a bigger house elsewhere, had my sister, drank a LOT, fought with mom a lot, made some moves on a couple of mom's friends, got arrested for DUII, and then mom kicked his ass out of the house. he moved back in with his parents, did his community service, joined AA, drove to work on a bicycle for several months until he got his license back, lived in a trailer for quite a few years, and finally a couple of years ago got remarried and bought a house, where he now lives with my stepmom. finished his bachelor's at cornerstone, and is still working at steelcase. Sorry for the lengthy life story, but i think it helps you get a picture of who he is. he's been sober for over a decade now - ever since the divorce. he also reestablished his faith, and is more churchy than ever. partially because his new wife is more devout than my mother ever was. which is obnoxious for me, being heathen by comparison (not really, but i'm less down with the program than he is).

my stepdad, who has been married to my mom for 10 years now, is probably one of the best things that ever happened to me, developmentally. i think i'm finally beginning to reach the point where i've outgrown him, but during my formative adolescent years, his influence was exactly what the doctor ordered. he's quite uncouth and outspoken about pretty much everything. he has an intriguing worldview - childlike, in many ways - but is surprisingly intelligent. formerly a self-employed builder, his true love is carpentry. unfortunately, he had to cave to "the man" and get a haircut and a "real job" for a remodeling company. but he did spend some time after he divorced his first wife, before he met my mom, living down in key west florida, in a conversion van, playing guitar on the street for money. a dog and a scavenger in the truest and fullest sense of the word.

my stepmom is the most recent addition, and is therefore the least interesting. mostly because i had pretty much developed fully at that point, and she's kind of boring. not boring to be around, just boring to talk about. she likes god, and reading, and being quiet. she works for a publishing house in GR. she has three cats, all of which moved into the house with them when they got married. she is quite catlike, actually. very sensitive. the slightest thing can get a great reaction. and, at other times, apparently stoic and completely in control. she is substantially more loyal than most cats i've met, though. which makes the feline tendencies more tolerable.

those are my folks.

--------------------

it's important to realize that they are not the only ones i (or anyone else) learn from. we all learn from everyone we encounter. friends, family, teachers, coworkers, superiors, subordinates, young, and old. we take it all in and make a collective. parents and siblings tend to be more recognized for their influence, because they are the ones who we see the most of, time-wise, especially during our developmental stages of growth.

it's interesting, then, to see the way in which my father and mother were normal in the amount of time they spent with me, up until the divorce. after the divorce i saw my dad much less, and his influence decreased along with it. people who see me alongside my stepdad swear that we're blood relatives, despite differing hair color. his influence on me has been so great, not only because of my receptiveness to it (which it took a while for him to earn – believe me), but because of the sheer amount of time he has spent with me. there is really no substitute for that. which is why i consider my stepmom's influence nominal, at best. not because she's a terrible lady and i hate her guts and think she has nothing to teach me. none of those things are true. it's just because she hasn't had the opportunity to spend that much time with me, so her influence on my development has been negligible. i'm curious to see what she does with my sister, though. because libby's a freshman in high school, and is now getting to the point where she and mom are always going at it verbally (which i think is pretty normal), and it will be interesting to see how much of an understanding, feminine shelter our stepmom will turn out to be for her.

anyway, things were pretty boring up until i was about 7. sure mom and dad fought a lot, but i was a little kid. i didn't know better. i thought that was just the way things were everywhere. i watched a lot of tv, which probably contributed substantially to my distorted sense of reality. when i was 7, my sister was born. that made things kind of topsy turvy for me. the entire existence i had grown accustomed to and established for myself was shattered. less than a year later, mom had kicked dad out and filed for divorce. what had been topsy turvy was now an absolute clusterfuck. and i was pissed. i had this whole order and balance established, which might not have been normal, but was at least agreeable to me, and then it got all shot to hell and went into a tailspin. you'd probably be pissed too. and mom was pissed at dad for all the things he'd done, large or small, and i now know that most women that happens to will never truly let go. they will always hang on to at least a little shard of it, to keep safe in the tiniest, deepest, darkest, most evil place in their soul, to be used only when they really want to confuse the fuck out of some idiot who just wanted to get laid. poor, poor, idiot. additionally, mom no longer had dad to argue with, so all of the pent up aggression she was accustomed to letting out on him, and all of my newfound anger at the whole messed up situation, which – as far as i could tell – was entirely her doing, collided with cataclysmic force. it's a good thing this happened when i was seven to maybe... ten years old or so. because if i had been any bigger, she would have gotten hurt. and i was scrawny then. i got into middle school and gained a bunch of weight (a decent amount of it bone and muscle, with enough fat marbled in to make me self-conscious) which would have done a lot more damage than the former wiry punk could. i had also started taking it out on kids at school. mostly just one or two. the really BIG weenies, you know? so they sent me to a psychologist, had me do all these tests. in then end they said i was too smart for my own good, and just had to learn to curb my anger. which basically meant internalizing it. or at least, that's what mom said to do. that didn't work, because i couldn't hold it forever. but she paid more than her fair share for teaching me that. so, dad's way was to give it to god. this posed a problem later, when i started wondering if god really existed or not. and honestly, it was kind of a difficult concept for a kid, even a fairly smart one, to grasp and execute fully. so that didn't really work.

what i wound up doing was breaking it down to the two most fundamental parts i could, the A and B listed above. and i realized that when i would get angry and hurt people, i couldn't control it. or more accurately, i realized i couldn't control the fact i would get angry. if somebody tells you something really mean (which kids are extraordinarily good at, for some reason) you can't help but get angry at it. so, you have to accept the emotions (not just anger) and acknowledge what they are and why. the next step is the part you do have control over – the action/behavior/whatever. i decided that i didn't want my emotions telling me what to do all the time. i'm a human being. i have the right to choose what i do, and that action then determines the consequences (good or bad) that i will have to contend with. i can experience the emotion, recognize the emotion, and then disconnect what i'm feeling with what i'm doing. it's a weird way to function, and is in no way an easy thing to do, but it was the best solution to the problem i could find. it's basically like using a really big shock absorber on all that emotional volatility i mentioned in part A. and it helps to calm the whole house down as well, because the behavior is altered, so rather than contributing to the chaos, it's just staying the course. i mean, don't get me wrong, life is boring without a little pizzazz. you need fluctuation every now and again, just to stay sane. but it's a nice tool to be able to use when the really big stuff rolls around and you just want to stop the merry-go-round and get off for a second. remember, all this stuff is what goes on inside my head, unaltered. i'm not getting help from somebody/something else to make me FEEL better. and honestly, i don't FEEL better. i'm just kind of detaching during a big swell until the wave dies down and i can come back again. i'm not ignoring it. i'm not burying it. i'm just choosing that i control my behaviors. i don't always do what i FEEL like doing, just because i feel like doing it. i'm just smoothing it out. i hope that makes sense, because it's key. and it took me a long time to learn. so i'd like for other people to benefit from it too. feelings and actions are two different things. when the line gets blurry, bad things happen. that's the lesson here.

i will admit, however, that i no longer use my mind exclusively to alter this thought-feeling-action sequence. not that i'm using alcohol or tobacco or anything else to escape my problems, or to make me not feel so bad, or anything like that. my motivations for their use (read: my behavior, which is the use of them) are not emotionally based. if they are, once again, bad things happen. i enjoy using recreational substances on occasion. i find their effects pleasant. obviously, i can't do so all the time, because i still need to function. and other times, i NEED to feel bad, so i shouldn't use them. it's not normal to feel good all the time. and honestly, if you do feel "good" all the time, then eventually you forget what "good" is. everything just flatlines. your emotion-scape becomes fucking iowa. at which point, "good" is no longer good. like i said before, humans need a bit of fluctuation here and there. without it, we go stir-crazy. it's bad. we need drama. just not too much drama.

i thank all four of my parents, as well as all the rest of those who helped make me who i am, for showing me what it means to be human, and for teaching me how to deal with struggle. if there is one life lesson that i take with me from my childhood, this lesson that enables me to deal well in high-stress situations, and still function logically and soundly, will likely prove to be the most useful. and i intend to use it. in fact, i already have.

Cause everything inside it never comes out right
And when I see you cry it makes me want to die

I have watched him suffer through the death of a friend..
And exactly a month later, for the course of about a month I watched him suffer the pain of watching his mother suffer until she passed away.
I have seen him at his weakest moments, and his strongest moments and the moments in between when he was lost in his own body.
I have helped him mend the pieces of a broken heart that I caused.
I have fought with him over serious things, and stupid things.
I've seen the fury in his eyes and the anger eat at him like a bacteria.
I've felt the distance grow and then be wiped away.
I've felt the butterflies day after day after day for over three years.
He's helped me through my roughest moments.
Wiped away a million undeserved tears.
Helped me mourn the loss of two friends.
Brought me chocolate shakes when I'm sick.
Let me get a cat even though he's allergic.
Let me keep the cat even though she's had an accident or two in the chair.
Let me fall asleep in his arms and wake up in his arms.
Our love is thicker than molasses.

I could go on and on describing our relationship, and its imperfections but it would take me days, and I would end up over analyzing everything to the point where I was stir-crazy, so I won't.

Christmas makes me cherish the ones I love. Makes me think about what I have, what I've lost, and what I could have.

This time of year makes me emotional.
November 21st this year was 7 years since my grandpa passed away.
December 23rd this year will be 4 years since my grandma passed away.

Parents?
I'm going to throw a curve-ball at you guys and I want feedback.
Unless it makes you feel icky and uncomfortable - in which case, you shouldn't even be creeping my blog.

How do you feel about your parents?

I know it's a loaded question. I'm wondering how you felt about the way they raised you, their rules, their flaws, their greatest moments and mistakes - and will you take any of this with you when YOU become a parent?

Duh, okay, I know you take some of your parents' tendencies with you everywhere but some people absolutely adore their parents and kiss ass to no end. Some would rather feed their kids tic-tacs for breakfast just because their parents never let them have any.
So are you grateful, or spiteful?

I think I'm a little bit of both, honestly.

(my mom, Lynnette, and step-dad Barry.)

My mom never got along with my dad, ever. What with his cheating and all. So I never spent time with the two of them together. Always back and forth. Always.

My dad got married when I was two and spoiled me because he knew my mom couldn't, being a single parent with two daughters. My mom always used to tell him, "You can't buy her love. She'll grow up and realize."
And I did.

But I also realized other things. Like my mom's drug addiction, her alcoholism, her depression. Looking back now, she made it look so easy, but I can tell it took its toll on her. Now she's divorced for the second time, stays in her room 22 out of 24 hours and regularly engages me in drunken arguments.

My mom was never big on affection or taking my sister Casey and I out places. Most of my memories from my single digit days are of Case and I eating popsicles on our front porch, watching the hot air balloons take off and float overhead.

There was a slew of new houses and abusive boyfriends before we actually got settled and my mom seemed to be consistently happy. For awhile.

My friends tend to love my mom because you can tell her anything and she's super easy going. She'll cook for you and teach you her trade secrets (my mom is an amazing cook), but only if you clean up afterwards. She'll come sit and play video games for hours, pressing other people's buttons and trying to cheat.

Sometimes she'll remember things I like and bring them home from the store, and announce it proudly.
And it hurts because she tries so hard.

(Myself and my dad, Carlos, at my sister's birthday dinner.)

My dad used to be my hero. He would drive anywhere to get me and back, and then back again because I forgot my Simba in his car, and then back.
But always with a smile.

I have baby shoes and letters he wrote me when I was growing up, memories of the toy-room he built for me, so stuffed with toys that I couldn't walk through it. I felt like a princess. But after awhile the Victorian dresses and painful hair-dos, and shiny new dolls got old.
Right about the time I did.

My dad is a Spanish (and also Mexican) Catholic. So I became the antichrist when I let my mother cut off my long hair, when I died it neon colors, when I listened to profane music, and when I got my first piercings.
My ears. Wtf?

My relationship has always been strained with my dad, and it only gets worse the older we both get. I have a 3 hour time limit that I allow myself to see him before all bets are off and the fists come out. My dad's a manipulator, guilt-tripper, and cheater. The first time I ever heard him say he was sorry to me, and admit that he was wrong, was when I walked in on him and his secretary in the living room.

It's crazy not to look up to your parents in some ways. Don't get me wrong, the respect is still there. My mom struggled and raised me fine, and my dad dealt with my step-mom's racist parents. Even though he hid me from her family for years.

But whatever.

When I'm with Emilio or Eliseo or Karis, or Kaleb, and I hear something come out of my mouth that sounds born from my parents, it scares me.
Because yes, they raised me successfully, but not without a lot of trauma and anxiety disorders and obsessiveness.

It's why I always loved Alex's mom - you could tell her anything. And Samm's mom never judges, just always wants what's best for you. I don't envy my parents but I'm grateful for everything they've done for me, good or bad, because I'd like to think I'm a strong individual that could deal with pretty much anything - that I haven't already.

How about your parents?

8 More Days!!!
It's nearing closer and closer. And it's getting hellish at stores and malls.

Speaking of hellish, last night, me and my mom left to go to Muskegon at about 10 o' clock, and usually it takes us 45 minutes to get there...well, we were driving in a snow storm. It was hell frozen over on earth! It took us an hour and a half just to get there. And on the way there, we had a couple scares. Mom could not see the middle of the road, or where the side of the road ended, so we were basically just guessing on where we were supposed to drive. Then, the speed limit on the road we take is usually around 60 mph, well, we were only going 35, and some guy came up on our ass, at about 70 mph, went around us, and left us in a shit ton of stirred up snow, and that blinded us. The majority of the street lights were not turned on, so it looked like star wars out there with the snow flying directly into our windshield. Well, when we got to Doug's Grandma's house, we stayed for a little bit, and we would have stayed over and slept there if Doug didn't have to work, but then we were off. We had to go to Wal-Mart to get cereal, milk, dog/cat food, "white elephant gifts" for the kids' church, and something for lunch for Doug to have. We got all of that....and then some. And on top of it all, mom wasted a few dollars trying to grab stuff in the crane machine. HaHa. Well, the ride home wasn't as bad, but it was still pretty bad. And we were actually kind of surprised that the kids had school today. I mean, we were, cos of the weather and the roads, but we also weren't because this new super intendent is a dick. Yeah. But, we didn't make it home until about 1:30am. And I had to clear off the back of the van and help put away groceries on top of it. So, I didn't get to bed until 2am. Which is when Doug wakes up for work. I have to say, it was the first night in a very long time where I didn't get a headache the next day. So, I am happy that today I am not going to be depending on Excedrin or Aspirin. But, I have a feeling that might change once Ava gets home. She was kind of cranky this morning, but, I hope she got better during school. Then, I also have to clean up the dining room and clean out our back closet, which is a mountain of shoes and coats. But, it's better than the chores I had to do two days ago. Which included cleaning behind the toilet. Gahh. Gross. But the funny thing is, I would rather do gross stuff like that, than the dishes. HaHa.

But, I think that is enough from me. Bye for now.

9 more days..
It's 9 more days until Christmas, my favourite Holiday EVER. It's funny because I used to be all about Halloween, and I went to the complete opposite and went to Christmas. I think it might have always been my favourite, but I never realised it. Yet again, back when Halloween was my favourite Holiday I was into darker things. But, I should let you know, Christmas isn't my favourite Holiday for the religious reason. Not at all. I am an Atheist, so, I don't believe that mumbo jumbo about Jesus and what not. For me, it's the traditions we have as a family, and it's probably the happiest day for my family. Not because of the presents or the food, it's because we are all finally together. There's not as much bickering and fighting, which when it comes to the younger kids it is partially because of presents and food, but when it comes down to me and my mom and Step Dad, it's the family time.

So, it's in just a little over a week. And I am torn because I cannot wait for Christmas day, but at the same time, I don't want the anticipation to end. I like keeping the decorations up, and I love making the cookies and putting the frosting on them, I love Having the lights out at night and the only thing going is the tree and decorative lights in the dining room, I like the Candy Canes and Hot Cocoa. I love the feeling I get when I look out the window with a cup of tea or hot cocoa in my hand and I all I see is gorgeous white snow. I like the wreaths that are hung up on the door. I like making my Wintry welcome signs. I love waking up Christmas morning and seeing all of the kids smiling and laughing. I like the traditional Christmas morning Cinnamon Rolls and Coffee we have. If I could, I would live in that damn Christmas Land in "The Nigthmare Before Christmas". HaHa. I'm a dork and I am aware of it. But, hey, at least I am fine and content with that fact. Pretty Proud of it actually.

But, here comes my Christmas countdown. So, if you are grouchy around this time of year, hide your eyes from my blog. Because I can almost guarantee these posts will have at least one thing about Christmas in them for the next 9 days.

But, a grumpy little Three year old needs my help with getting colouring pictures set up. Bye.

-Samm

Things have been pretty crazy lately, and are finally starting to calm down.
We have the house to ourselves.
Haven't lived by ourselves since August.
Im signed up for spring classes.
Hopefully the funding goes through.
I started talking to Tara a lot more latley, and it makes me miss the past.
When I lived a more adventurous life.
When nothing mattered but having fun.
I don't do spontaneous things anymore.
And I should.
I need to, but I really don't have anyone to do them with because I have distanced myself so much from everyone.
Put miles between us.
I really miss hanging out with friends.
Not that I don't love hanging out with Mike, but ya know..

I'm really getting a kick out of people on the internet.

Anyone familiar with my journal knows that I speak in generalities in my journal and it is often quite open ended in style, I do not speak of specific names or occurrences in my writing. Chances are if I am writing something and you read it, then it has nothing to do with you specifically.

With that said, someone read a 2 line entry of mine and it was somehow more inflammatory then a very long flame war, really that is flattering that my writing has that kind of impact but that is really giving me far too much literary credit. The said entry did was not in reference to said person that was upset, it was a recollection of the whole day and the childishness of the flame war that was previously mentioned. And to begin with, most of the things I write on here should really be taken with a grain of salt.

But hey, let's all get pissed off on the internet.

Well I must have done something wrong. Now I don't get to read the daily updates on the happy lives of the Rainbow Friends and their residence in the Gingerbread House Paradise.
