That new single, Girls and Boys, not only rips off the chorus of Blur's "Girls and Boys" but is probably the stupidest piece of misogynistic crap I've ever heard. Oh, girls only like money and men are just oafs who want to get laid? Yeah, that's exactly the kind of biting social commentary that I'd expect from a band whose songs act as a platform for speaking out against the evils of going to college. Fuck you, and fuck anyone who's ever mistaken you for a punk band, and fuck everyone who likes you.

i have to buy school stuff at target later... ::sigh:: but i might hang out with tamara and her sis (she's visiting from minnesota). but if we go to the mall or something there's a target right across the street. which is actually better than ours i think.... but shh i didn't say that ;-) j/k
oh yea, i am blaming mike for my constant listening to starlight mints lately. i guess i could blame the band for being that great, but no, i blame him.

so the concert was absolutely AMAZING! man, she can sing like no other. honestly.. i don't really dig people live. like sometimes i might d/l a live version of a song... and it'll totally suck. i always assumed it's the lack of atmosphere, cause being there is so very different than sitting in your room. but then i made a live cd of coldplay stuff recently... they sounded fine. and i saw the smashing pumpkins, i know it just wasn't the actual being there that made it fantastic (although i am very picky about their live stuff). even kelly osbourne kicked some ass live. and that's saying something. but tori just blew me away. i think she soudned even better live than a studio recording. no britney spears here! but yea. the seats were good. kinda funky, cause they were to the side but up on this terrace thing. but it was cool to be up higher and get a better view. i got kinda freaked out though cause i was by the edge. but i'm good as long as stuff doesn't like move. (one reason why you will never see me too close to the railing on the second story of the montclair mall... cause of the building being all earthquake proof roller style) anyways, off track there. but yea, we were outside which was nice. oh yea, the whole playing two pianos at once.... talent much! that and she looked like an angel... i relate people to weird things yes. but she had this flowly long shirt thing and the way the lights were setup she looked all glowly most of the time. but on the screen deals they had you could see that she was wearing jeans and her top was actually striped. so it wasn't totally angel like ;o) and she ruled cause she didn't play all new stuff. it was random things really. like she knew what sounded best and went together well. she's also crazy cause she did two encores. after singing for a while too. and she had super cute t-shirts!! i didn't wanna pick just one :o( but i got a ringer tee deal. cute mm hmm.
my overall rating 9/10. (will anyone ever recieve a 10 from me? who knows!)
mmm... i'm dead tired.

this world totally blows
so i watch the news almost regularly.. even if they are biased little bitches, and tonight it totally pissed me off, like it hit a nerve. this whole budget "crisis" (their word, not mine) here in california is crap. it's costing all this money and you know our sorry asses are gonna be in debt FOREVER. just like the u.s. as a whole. and i'm sorry but i do NOT want arnold running for governor. i know he isn't doing it officially but i don't even wanna give him the chance. i'd vote for some uber conervative republican asshole before him. but i am glad we had the petition going. i even had friends invovled, which was cool. but i didn't get to sign it, hehe.
also, this whole irag deal. i've tried not to really get involved into any discussions about it, but damn. now it's really pissing me off. supposedly the conflict is over... but we're still there, "maintaining things". whatever, get our asses out of there. our soilders are dying!! does anyone not notice this?? there is no reason anyone, ever, should be dying for our country. not a single soul. yea it's great and all, especially compared to other places and yes i am glad.. but we still majorly suck. in my world, tom morello would be president.
