My alarm clock and the clock on my computer aren't sychronized and i'ts seriously freaking me out. Cause when my alarm clock said it was 11:07 I was playing guitar until 11:11 and my computer clock said it was 11:08 but at 11:08 I was still playing guitar and I swear to god I thought I was playing the same song for like 10 minutes. And now the computer clock says its 11:11. God I'm so confused.

Ok Go is a no go because my car is crap. Stupid college education.
Instead, I shall be going to Red Flannel! Yay for small town celebrations.
I love you all.
P.S. I have been so tired lately that I slept through one of my classes today. I went over to Nick's to take a nap and fell asleep from 11 to 1:15 when I had to go to work. And I'm still tired. It's because of this France STRESS and midterm STRESS. I hate being stressed because I get tired and snappy.
P.P.S. I saw Katie today and I am fulfilled as a human being. I have reached enlightenment and it is named Kittie Katie. I missed her oodles.
P.P.P.S. I found a whole bag full of Christian romance novels I haven't read yet. I am going to go read then sleep.

If Dethklok was an actual band, and not a creation of Adult Swim, I'd listen to them.

Why would someone give a hair salon flyer to a person with dreadlocks? I am so confused.

Does anyone have a reliable vehicle we could take to see Ok Go? Nick doesn't think my car's gonna make it and he doesn't trust his either.

To people who would like to go to the Ok Go concert on Saturday:
I could not find a time for the concert but it is apparently before the football game. (If anyone knows further details, please tell me.)
If you would like to go, respond to this entry and/or call me.
We'll figure out transportation once I know for sure who's coming. I planned on making it a day trip, leaving early on Saturday, picking up Katie at Western and hanging out in Ann Arbor once we got there (because I love Ann Arbor and I want Katie to come).
I love you all.

ummmmmmm yeah....
I was in GR briefly on friday. I got to see some people I haven't seen for awhile. I had an enjoyable, if entirely unproductive weekend. My brother's off following Widespread Panic again, and the other Kellie moved out, so now there's no one at home I can talk to. Oh well.
I think that's it.
[edit]
My brother's in Kentucky today apparently. He has quite the history there...

My French professor joked with us the other day and he was so proud that he had made us all laugh.
A student asked how long our compositions needed to be (the last one was, at maximum, a page). He replied with a straight face saying it needed to be no more than 5 or 6 pages. We all made that stunned "wha?!" noise before laughing as he smiled.
It was hilarious. He's so French it's awesome.
I love college.

My sister just informed me that Ok Go is having a free concert in Ann Arbor on October 7. That is a Saturday and also the same day as Rockford's homecoming dance (ha ha on my sister).
I was thinking of going if people want to come along. It's Ok Go and it's FREE.
It's also a two and a half hour drive so this decision is liable to change. Unless I end up not driving, then I'm all for it.
(BTW, I liked them before they sold out and were famously awesome. Gotta keep up my indie cred.)
I love you.
P.S. I just realized that is also Red Flannel weekend. Decisions, decisions.
P.P.S. Emily and I will both turn 20 in France. I expect cards and packages.

Yesterday
Nick and I went to see The Last Kiss last night at Celebration. In the middle of the movie, I thought I head a tornado siren but shrugged it off because I always think I'm hearing a tornado siren.
Nick kept pointing out that the projector was making weird noises and he was getting nervous about it which made me nervous. The whole theater was really anxious and everyone kept shifting in their seats.
I began to hear the rain start falling a lot more than it had been. It was pounded loudly on the roof but there wasn't any thunder, just rain pouring down. Suddenly there was a big booming noise and the power went out. No one screamed or anything thank goodness because I hate when people scream when the power goes out.
Anyway so the power went out and we just sat there. Nick (thank goodness he was there) grabbed my hand and started talking to me. He just kept talking trying to calm me down as the power came back on. I told him I was okay, just surprised and we sat in the theater murmuring for thirty seconds just waiting for someone to tell us what to do.
As a girl got up to leave the theater and see what was happening, someone came into the theater: "There's a tornado warning and we need you all to come into the hallway."
There was no hesitation as we all gathered our things and left the theater. As we got outside, Nick noticed I was shaking and he talked me down again. My parents were gone this weekend so I was worried about Hannah and Nathaniel. I called them and they were okay so I was okay.
We sat in the hallway for about half an hour and in that time we were told that two tornadoes had touched down and were heading north towards us. The tornado warning was over at 6:30 but then extended to 6:42 so everyone just sort of sat around waiting. We got free passes to another movie so it was okay.
Yeah, it was fun. Tornado warnings have always freaked me out, ever since I was a little kid. The first one I remember was when I was in first or second grade when we lived in McHenry, IL. I was in the kitchen at the table with my mom and a tornado warning came on the little TV.
I love you all.

Free to a Good Home
Michelle, Steve, and I went to one of my favorite films this year last weekend. The Museum of the Moving Image hosted a couple screenings of "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints." Set and shot in Astoria, Queens, it's loosely based on first-time writer/director Dito Montiel's memoir of growing up in the city. Normally I'd have a tough time getting into a gritty story like this one was, but this film had a lot of heart, and by halfway through you are completely sucked into the story, somehow actually identifying with the characters as a nice change of pace. Mr. Montiel and actor Chazz Palmentari were on hand after the screening(s) for questions. It was a lot of fun.
Also a riot of a time was Wednesday's taping of "Late Show with David Letterman" that Michelle scored tickets to. After being cattle-herded around the theater, inside and out, for a combination of an hour and 45 minutes over the course of the day, we got our seats (which were surprisingly good). I wondered whether it was because we were seeing it live, but I thought to myself at the time, "This show is never this funny." Sure enough, seeing it aired later that night, it wasn't quite the same, but the nonetheless I found that evening's materials (if not the guests) to be very solid. Nothing like getting tater tots shot at you through a pneumatic gun. If you taped the show, look for Michelle and I when they show upcoming guests towards the end of the hour. We are 6-7 rows back, center stage, wearing light blue and teal. Feel free to use the obnoxious goateed guy who sat next to me who's flailing his arms as a reference point.

So I'm going backpacking tomorrow. In the UP. It's supposed to be cold. And rainy. Should be fun. Ummmm yeah. In other news, I'm trying to figure out if the Psalters are worth going home for. Home being home and all. Also I haven't gotten high since Monday without hardly even trying. It's giving me deja vu like crazy. Like yesterday I was talking to my roomate and we were talking about....I don't remember what but somehow the conversation got to Madonna and I was like "We just had this same conversation a week ago." And she was like "No, dude, you just think that cause you haven't smoked weed in awhile." So...... moral of the story: don't do drugs unless you are prepared to have weird mental processes.
