So for my English 222 class I have to write a 15 page paper. It has to be about the career field I am going into. And I have to have an interview with someone who teaches the profession I want to go into, and a professional in the field. So I sent out a few emails to people I knew would get back to me. Then I said "what the hell" and I sent out a few emails to some of the hot shots in opera (well to their agents at least). Some of these people included Deborah Voigt, Christine Brewer, and Rene Fleming.
Today I got a response:
"Dear Jacqulyn
Thank you for the email and sorry for the delay in responding.
Christine has said that she would be delighted to do this interview for you. She would prefer it if you could email the questions to her; please could you email the questions to me.
All best wishes
Jonatahn"
I have an interview with Christine Brewer. I HAVE AN INTERVIEW WITH CHRISTINE BREWER!!!!!
For those of you who dont know who Christine Brewer is, she is one of the biggest Stars in opera in the WORLD.
I am absolutely stunned. I can't believe I got a response let alone an interview!!! It truly is a miracle
I have been working out every day for the past week. Its exciting and stuff. Ashley and I do a class for an hour, lift weights for a half hour, then swim for a half hour. Needless to say, it kicks my ass, but I feel better already. Hopefully I will see results eventuly. Lord knows I feel them. lol
Also, not only do I love Eagles of Death Metal, QOTSA and Desert sessions, I'm now really into Kyuss. Good stuff man.
Locked my keys in my car today.
Lucky for me, the campus police brought a slim jim and unlocked it. I also have gotten my $300 fee waived for moving off campus.
Morning classes suck. But Its not so hard anymore, which is good. At least I dont have any 8am classes.
My roomies and I are signing a lease today/tomorrow for our apartment next year. They are really nice, brand new in fact. Three floors, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, diningroom, kitchen, and livingroom. Its kind of like the apartment I have right now, only better. The best thing about it is they are leasing it for $290 a month, which is amazing because it's basicly on campus. The year after is going to be $360 a month. Woo for me.
I cleaned out my closet and my drawers today. Its amazing some of the things that I found A notebook from my Junior year with "Jackie + Chris" in Japanese scribbled in various places on it. A note from my freshman year from Tim Seifken asking me to Swirl. A note from Zach Garnsey from when we were going out. A bunch of pictures of Jessie Wilde and I at the RHCP concert. Random choir pictures from Cedar. Awards from more recent years that I remembered encouraged me to pursue a music career. Pictures of old friends, and many other things. It made me sad going through my things, pitching some of it, tucking away my favorite memories. The thing that made me the saddest was how I remembered that things were good. And I just want things to be that good again, you know? Nonetheless, I cleaned everything out, and re-packed my drawers so that I can move my dressers easier. Hopefully things will start going better.
