British law allowing same-sex civil partnerships has been branded "absurd" by Sir Ian McKellen, who claims that the law, which came into force in December, is discriminatory to both straight and gay couples.
The openly gay film star and gay rights activist went on to say that the Civil Partnership Act was nonsensical and was worded in such a way to avoid any controversy.
He argues that true equality will only be achieved if the law applies to all couples, whatever their sexuality.
"I really can't see why the government couldn't just say gay people can get married -- that would have been true equality and so much simpler," said McKellen.
"But that hasn't been done because they (the government) couldn't face the furor. So they've passed a law that is not available to straight people," he continued. "Straight people cannot have a civil partnership -- they have to get married. Extraordinary."

The curious "Queer Duck" factor
Just when you think you have absolutely zero interest in "Queer Duck: The Movie," you find yourself suddenly curious to see it. Take a look at these details: Not only does the animated film feature the adventures of Queer Duck, the Jewish male nurse (voiced by JM J. Bullock); his boyfriend Openly Gator and their mutual friends Bi-Polar Bear (a hard-partying leather enthusiast) and Oscar Wildcat (who's never without a martini), it also features songs with titles such as "Gay Day In Happyland," "I'm Glad I'm Gay" and "Let's Play Gay Baseball."
We can see if it lives up to its potential July 18 when it's released on DVD, but with special features that include "Bi-Polar Bear and the Glorious Hole," "Getting Behind Queer Duck," and "Getting the Right Homosexual," well, it just sounds . . . funny.

Fun in the ghetto
tonight was SO fun. i was expecting to come home after work and go to sleep and be borihg, but instead i went on some adventures w/ Melanie from work. We also smoked a TON of hooka. it was a really surprising and i hope it happens a lot more. The other good ting is that she has fun friends too. OH AND MICHELLE: i watched an episode of the X-files ad i got all freaked out and i had to have them walk me out to my car. I am a loser, but it lifted my spirits from yesterday a lot. I LOVE HOOKAS!

Am I doing the right thing? I am so scared tat i made the wrong choice, now i can't take it back either. What if it was supposed to be different and i messed up my whole life. what if this summer was supposed tobe te one? I am scared to be without camp. with out Ryan. I am having high anxiety right now. I was just on facebook and i saw all the other camp people had tat as thier summer plans and they are all gooing to be together. arg a larg why is this so hard? but mostly, will i even be missed?
I spent the entire day with kate. It was fun, I spent Way too much money though, so now i have to be good until sunday.
I put up a shit ton of pics on facebook.

LAST NIGHT WAS SO FUN!!!
I went out and did some stupid stuff w/ miche;;e that we found way more fun than most would. then we met bia at monaco. it is really weird though, cuz even though i was with a group of people, i feel like i was in my own world most of the night. I am currently making a cd for one of the piano players. Good times.

I hate my checkbook. It is not balanced. i have not balanced it in a LONG time, and now i feel very overwhelmed by it. The good news is that the computer says i have more money than i should...it has said that for my last 3 statements too...arg a larg moolah hurts my head...i have to pay the cable bill (split in 2 not 4) and i have to get the money for my summer class. the absolute worst part is that i just got my taxes from my mom...( it is a long story) so i will probably not get any financial aid next year. I am working a lot though...this is good and bad. I also am for sure going to fail one class, possibly two, maybe 3. I HATE LIFE> I HATE COLLEGE> FIND ME SOME GILLYWEED> I AM DROWNING

Tonight i am going to Monaco w/ the C-crew (plus some cocks). Then tomarrow i have an extra credit talk i am attending, then i HAVE to get some of my finals shit done. I also have to go to bed reletively early since I have to ONCE AGAIN open at 6am on Saturday. Hopefully it will be nice on saturday so i can read outside again in the afternoon.
Today i bought some italian crusty bread at McKenzie's BAkery. It was AWESOME.
