Does anyone have a reliable vehicle we could take to see Ok Go? Nick doesn't think my car's gonna make it and he doesn't trust his either.

To people who would like to go to the Ok Go concert on Saturday:

I could not find a time for the concert but it is apparently before the football game. (If anyone knows further details, please tell me.)

If you would like to go, respond to this entry and/or call me.

We'll figure out transportation once I know for sure who's coming. I planned on making it a day trip, leaving early on Saturday, picking up Katie at Western and hanging out in Ann Arbor once we got there (because I love Ann Arbor and I want Katie to come).

I love you all.

ummmmmmm yeah....
I was in GR briefly on friday. I got to see some people I haven't seen for awhile. I had an enjoyable, if entirely unproductive weekend. My brother's off following Widespread Panic again, and the other Kellie moved out, so now there's no one at home I can talk to. Oh well.

I think that's it.

[edit]
My brother's in Kentucky today apparently. He has quite the history there...

That's the URL for the Psalters live disc. I'll put some more stuff up when I have the motivation.

My French professor joked with us the other day and he was so proud that he had made us all laugh.

A student asked how long our compositions needed to be (the last one was, at maximum, a page). He replied with a straight face saying it needed to be no more than 5 or 6 pages. We all made that stunned "wha?!" noise before laughing as he smiled.

It was hilarious. He's so French it's awesome.

I love college.

My sister just informed me that Ok Go is having a free concert in Ann Arbor on October 7. That is a Saturday and also the same day as Rockford's homecoming dance (ha ha on my sister).

I was thinking of going if people want to come along. It's Ok Go and it's FREE.

It's also a two and a half hour drive so this decision is liable to change. Unless I end up not driving, then I'm all for it.

(BTW, I liked them before they sold out and were famously awesome. Gotta keep up my indie cred.)

I love you.

P.S. I just realized that is also Red Flannel weekend. Decisions, decisions.

P.P.S. Emily and I will both turn 20 in France. I expect cards and packages.

Yesterday
Nick and I went to see The Last Kiss last night at Celebration. In the middle of the movie, I thought I head a tornado siren but shrugged it off because I always think I'm hearing a tornado siren.

Nick kept pointing out that the projector was making weird noises and he was getting nervous about it which made me nervous. The whole theater was really anxious and everyone kept shifting in their seats.

I began to hear the rain start falling a lot more than it had been. It was pounded loudly on the roof but there wasn't any thunder, just rain pouring down. Suddenly there was a big booming noise and the power went out. No one screamed or anything thank goodness because I hate when people scream when the power goes out.

Anyway so the power went out and we just sat there. Nick (thank goodness he was there) grabbed my hand and started talking to me. He just kept talking trying to calm me down as the power came back on. I told him I was okay, just surprised and we sat in the theater murmuring for thirty seconds just waiting for someone to tell us what to do.

As a girl got up to leave the theater and see what was happening, someone came into the theater: "There's a tornado warning and we need you all to come into the hallway."

There was no hesitation as we all gathered our things and left the theater. As we got outside, Nick noticed I was shaking and he talked me down again. My parents were gone this weekend so I was worried about Hannah and Nathaniel. I called them and they were okay so I was okay.

We sat in the hallway for about half an hour and in that time we were told that two tornadoes had touched down and were heading north towards us. The tornado warning was over at 6:30 but then extended to 6:42 so everyone just sort of sat around waiting. We got free passes to another movie so it was okay.

Yeah, it was fun. Tornado warnings have always freaked me out, ever since I was a little kid. The first one I remember was when I was in first or second grade when we lived in McHenry, IL. I was in the kitchen at the table with my mom and a tornado warning came on the little TV.

I love you all.

So I'm going backpacking tomorrow. In the UP. It's supposed to be cold. And rainy. Should be fun. Ummmm yeah. In other news, I'm trying to figure out if the Psalters are worth going home for. Home being home and all. Also I haven't gotten high since Monday without hardly even trying. It's giving me deja vu like crazy. Like yesterday I was talking to my roomate and we were talking about....I don't remember what but somehow the conversation got to Madonna and I was like "We just had this same conversation a week ago." And she was like "No, dude, you just think that cause you haven't smoked weed in awhile." So...... moral of the story: don't do drugs unless you are prepared to have weird mental processes.

I just wrote my first horrid paper of the semester and told my boyfriend that I didn't want to see him this weekend because all he does is play WoW.

Yay.

I'm in a mood. Damn period.

And Jessa inspired me to change my layout. Even though it doesn't fit on my screen it's still awesome and so is the song.

I LOVE YOU.

So I had the most ridicoulously crazy weekend in pretty much ever. Ummm yeah. The only night I even went to bed was Friday. To give you a point of reference. Last night/this morning was terribley dramatic, for a variety of reasons. I'm real tired and have a shitload of homework so I'm gonna go.

My sister and I were digging through our old VHS tapes and we found The Princess and the Goblin. It wasn't as wonderful as we remembered.

We also found our old Hello Kitty tapes. I love Hello Kitty. We watch Hello Kitty Cinderella and Hello Kitty Heidi. It was fantastic.

My father comes home at some point today. His flight was delayed.

I have homework to do whenever I become not lazy.

I love you all.

P.S. I bought Nick an alarm clock. It's also a night light.

P.P.S. The Princess and the Goblin had a preview for Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland before it. I love that movie too.

And then I'll be home. Bleah. Soooooo yeah....if you're around you should call me cause chances are I'll be bored out of my mind.

Guess what I did today!
I went hitchhiking. Not very far though, just to Remus, which is like 20 miles away. See, pretty much the whole school went home so I figured I might as well learn a new skill. Uhhh yeah. I had to walk pretty far down M-20 before I got to a stretch of road with an actual shoulder. But once I stuck my thumb out it only took like 5 minutes for a car to pull over. Beginner's luck I guess. So this guy and his son pulled over and it turned out they were headed straight to Remus so I was pretty damn lucky. The whole time I was thinking to myself "Holy shit! My first ride ever!" See I've been wanting to do this forever so it was really cool. So then they dropped me downtown.

Nothing much really happened in Remus. I went to a going out of business sale for a thrift shop and got a tapestry and a copy of Frankenstein for a quarter. And I talked to some interesting people. But pretty soon I got bored and figured I should think about heading back before it got to late so I went back to M-20 and stuck my thumb out again.

This time it took a little longer for anyone to stop. But it was still only like 15 minutes. This time it was a couple guys who said they could get me about halfway back to Mt Pleasant and I was like "sweet" cause I figured if worse came to worse I could walk back from there. One of the first things they asked me was if I had any weed. Which I didn't and still don't unfortunatly. So then I proceeded to make a few decisions that could have potentially been disastourous, but since I was picked up by good people it was fine. But I'm getting sick of typing and you're probly getting sick of reading so I'm gonna go make some dinner now. So a long story short, they ended up going out of their way to drive me back to Mt Pleasant. Which only reinforces my newfound view of people and the universe in general.

PS I know hitchhiking's risky, but I honestly don't believe it's as dangerous as it's made out to be. I mean, it's all about how you percieve your reality. If you choose to believe people are only out to harm, then that's probly all you'll experience. But if you trust people, maybe they'll trust you back and help you out. Or maybe I'm completely wrong and the next time I hitchike I'll get murdered or something.

So....it's labor day weekend. My roommates went home so I will be bored. However I'm contemplating going a-visiting so if you're somewhere other than Rockford and want to hang out you should let me know.

Other than that, I survived the first week of school. I actually like most of my classes, which is very strange. In my entire history of going to school I've liked about 4 classes, excluding French because we never actually did anything so it doesn't count. Ummm I have to go get a book before the bookstore closes so I'm going now.
