I'm safely back in Michigan. After 14+ hours of travel each way. Can you believe I didn't see the light for 12 hours?! At least. I mean the sun went down in Georgia around 6 and didn't come up in Michigan till like 7:30. But see those times are irrelevant now. I mean I learned my perception of time isn't crazy. It's actually pretty natural. But since I'm in school and work and all that bullshit I have to go with that senseless "linear time" model. Alas, alas, one day it will be behind me.

On the business side of things the weekend was waaaaaaaaay more than I EVER could've expeceted. I mean I just didn't know about these people. Where have they been hiding? I mean we all hear the myths of the saints, the food-not-bombers, the wandering hippies and the puppetistas. But to meet them in the flesh is another thing entirely. They had the world to offer me and I had nothing to offer them but my energy and my gratitude. We're really close to beating this though, if anyone cares you should write to your reps. Fuck being "anarchistly politically correct". If legislation gets the job done, it gets the job done. When I am of sound mind I'll give some specifics if anyone's interested. (even if you're not)

Things that are awesome:

Doing a last minute presentation preparation on Nintendo and procrastinating by watching videos of people playing the Wii for the first time. Tee hee. The old Japanese couple is so cute! It's really funny to see how they react to the controller. I want to see my dad play the Wii. That would be hilarious.

Things that are awesome about Ashland, Oregon:

They have a Tree Commission.

Said commission votes on a Tree of the Year.

They had a Car Free Day that encouraged people to seek other forms of transportation apart from cars.

Southern Oregon University has family housing and they define a couple as "two (2) individuals of the opposite or same gender who live together in an intimate, long-term relationship of indefinite duration with an exclusive mutual commitment in which partners share the necessities of life and agree to be financially responsible for each other's welfare, including living expenses."

I want to live there. It is such a cute town.

Sooooo I started filling out an application to U of M. I can't believe I'm going thru all this again. To date college (and applying to college) has given me about 4 nervous breakdowns. Looks like I'm going for a fifth. Or maybe even a 6th! Woo-hoo!

Last night I stayed on campus.

I stayed up all night. Emily, Claire and I watched seasons 1 and 2 of The Office. All night.

We finished just in time for breakfast.

Emily and I took a nap for about an hour and a half.

I am starting to feel tired. I just felt out of it before and I didn't realize how out of touch I was until I drove home. I really shouldn't have been driving.

There's more but I'm tired.

so today I was walking down the street stoned again, and some guy yelled out of his window "If you wanna join the army you gotta get a haircut." Cause I was wearing a camo jacket you see. I'm beginning to think maybe fridays are a bad time to be walking around baked. Because everyone gets me good. Even though in this case it was hilarious.

Also when I got back to the dorm everyone was going in thru the front cause all the other doors are locked on account of those damned westerners, and this kid was walking in drunk and it was obvious he either needed to puke or pass out. So anyway he still held the door for me and like 3 other people. Those are some serious manners. That is all.

People assume most Christians are heavy-handed, pushy, intolerant bigots bent of dominating any other culture or idea and supplanting it with their own whims because, for the most part, the ones who speak up the most ARE heavy-handed, pushy, intolerant bigots bent on dominating any other culture or idea and supplanting it with their own whims. It sucks. It's horrible. And it's the what everyone of any faith, political idea, or lifestyle has to deal with. People always focus on the loud minority who ruins everything. And like any other group, the only way you can combat this is making your views and, in this case, your kindness and actual testimony louder than the hateful prattle of those hurting your beliefs.
