Ben and I were briefly talking about music and he pointed out the fact that I barely have any happy music.

So I went to Eisley's site to see if they're touring.

They are! w00t!

They'll be in Chicago on September 20th at "The Metro" which makes me think of that SOAD song.

And I want to go.

Switchfoot is going to be at some Indiana fair but I want to wait until they come around here again. I wish I was into them when they did...

I'm going to try to get over to the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven sometime. Grand Haven is cool and yeah.

So people, who all wants to go? I don't know when would be good, we'll figure it out later.

We can go just hang out for a bit on the beach or walk around the town. I just want out of Rockford for even a day before school starts up again.

My dad asked our friend Grace in Taiwan to send us some 12 Girls Band stuff. She sent us the DVD and CD thingy. I can read the kanji on the front! Oh happy day!

Band camp is over!!! at last!
finally band camp is over, and i couldnt be at a better time........i was about to go insane >.< i kept gettin in trouble and yelled at......but im ok now.....now that its all over

Jenn gave me a ride home yesterday, and she was sick....so i wake up this morning, and i caught her cold >.< so now i feel all nasty...i hate bein sick.

anyways......my boyfriends coming down *cheers* and my cousin is leaving on thursday!!!!!! im soo happy he's leaving.....hes soooooooooooooooo annoying....i swear....i cant take it anymore >.<

I saw nicole today! at publix!!!! omg i was soooo happy!!!!!!!!!! i also saw shannon, and zach! it was awesome!!!!! i missed alll of them sooooooooooooooooo much!

oh, and today is my uncles b-day -.-;;;;; soo they're all here, and i soooo dont want them to be here....this is like the worst time for them to be over....

The school my uncle was director of and found is making a "thinking garden" ... a memorial to him.

Wow.

They sent us an invite to the dedication.

The "Dedication of The David Nordyke Thinking Garden".

It's August 15 at the school: Harmony Community School.

"...a candlelight vigil in loving memory and honor of David Nordyke, Founder and Executive Director of Harmony Community School."

It's a beautiful little invite and it's a beautiful thing for them to do for him.

I wish I could drive. I want to go down there and see everyone. I never get to see my family except for funerals... I want to check up on everyone.

I never thought I'd be listening to the radio again but here I am.

I guess WYCE doesn't really count as the radio though.

Then again, I never thought I'd be listening to the same station my dad listens to.

My point: I don't really have one. Like always. Whoever is the DJ from whenever to 3am really blows. He talks like an exaggerated Cap'n Kirk and it's painful to listen to him. He'll say one word then they'll be a pause and you think you lost the station but no, he picks up again in about two or three seconds. He drives me insane.

Next time you get a balloon, wonder on it.

The computer people (ABS) called.

From what I gathered, the motherboard was fried but they didn't wipe the hard drive.

They replaced the motherboard with the exact same kind of motherboard.

With the new motherboard, our CD drive, DVD drive and floppy drive wouldn't work so they replaced those too.

Then for some reason they had to give us a new CPU case.

My mom has a hard time understanding Asian people so I don't even know if that's really what was going on.

Anyway, we should have our computer back soon. Hopefully my mom understood correctly and they didn't wipe the hard drive.

That would be pretty funny because right now Ben's computer has all our junk on it and is going really slow.

So yeah. Our computer is fixed and should be on its way from California soon.

It's called LARP!!!
Well.

Today started out quite uneventful but turned out really awesome.

My sister and I watched The Sixth Sense. I had only watched it once before (on the bus back from Cedar Point in eighth grade) but I fell asleep during it then. I already knew everything about it so it could've been a lot better but I thought it was pretty cool.

Ben called while we were watching the deleted scenes and asked if I wanted to hang out. I couldn't because my parents were gone (this was while it was still light out...they still are gone) and I had to watch not only my siblings but also my brother's friend.

Later, (I don't know what time it was... past 7) my sister said, "someone's setting off fireworks" and we could hear the screeching noise of some sort of noisemaker. The door opened and my brother said, "it's Rachel's friends!"

Jackie, Ben and Brett showed up and we hung around for a little bit before watching a bit of Unbreakable then watching Signs. Nick showed up around 11.

Everyone headed home before midnight.

It was pretty awesome. I don't think everyone has ever hung out at my house before. I'm glad they all showed up. I had fun.

P.S. I called my parents to tell them that people were over so I wouldn't get in trouble if they came home while everyone was still there. My dad told me to get Brett Bretterson's autograph on a napkin. It had to say: "To Rachel's dad, I think of you always. Love, Brett Bretterson" And you wonder why I'm insane...
