Your Score: Salt
You scored 50% intoxication, 0% hotness, 25% complexity, and 0% craziness!
You are Salt! You may be bland, but life just wouldn't be the same without you. You're plentiful and you come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colours. You bring out the flavour in whatever you touch and have been the world's best preservative for millennia. You rock.

I got my grades!
The one class I was concerned about (because I had missed a large number of classes (due to illness and the fact that it was at 8) and you can only miss four before your grade drops (the prof took attendance EVERY DAY)) turned out great. It didn't drop at all and I know I missed more than four. I'm not complaining about that.
Also, there was another class I was slightly concerned about that my straight-As-friend got a C- in. But even that turned out fine.
So, my lame ass gen ed semester was okay. Next semester is pretty much the same so...excitement. Not.
And that's it.
Rumor has it my mom and I are going to bake cookies and wrap presents and go shopping today. I haven't heard from her yet so I'm going to go call her in a bit. I love shopping and cookies so I want to go as soon as we can.

Christmas stories
My mom would always tell us stories about how forgetful my grandmother would be sometimes. She'd give us the same gifts two years in a row or think she gave us a present that we never got.
One Christmas, she asked my uncle how he liked his new watch. His only response was "what watch?" She forgot to give it to him and found it in the upstairs closet.
Last year, my mom got my brother a cheese cutting board. He likes cheese and kitchen things. A few days after Christmas, we got a big chunk of cheese and Mom suggested Buddy use his new cheese board to cut it. He sort of just gave me and Mom blank looks and said "I didn't get anything like that."
Mom and I exchanged looks and I laughed at her, bringing up the story she always told about my grandma. We searched everywhere for that darn cheese board. I was there when she bought it, it was heavy enough that I remember putting it in the car.
She finally found it in her bedroom closet.

This is what I want for Christmas. I can't decide which would be better, reading the book or listening to that wonderful radio voice reading it to me.

We are getting a new cat tomorrow. He gets fixed tomorrow and then I will be picking him up after work.
If he doesn't die. ha ha jk jk
His name is Nick (ha ha ha ha). This name will be changed (it is, ironically, Nick's turn to name the cat.)
I have talked to The Baron about this so he knows he's getting a younger brother and he needs to be nice to him.
These cats are like our children.

We're going to see The Golden Compass tonight. I'm very nervous about it and I don't know if I want to see it.
It's my favorite sci-fi book series and I just don't want it to be ruined.
Nick keeps saying that the book will stay the same but it won't. Now I'll forever see those actors when I read the books.
I am, however, excited for the second one. Real excited about how they portray both the knife and the seams in space/time.
End.

So I’ve watched a few more movies and thought I’d list reviews for you guys.
Valentine was an entirely creepy movie. Very hot lead actor (David Boreanaz) helped to pull it off. I’m usually not a fan of horror movies no matter how poorly/greatly they’re done.
Beautiful Thing was annoying with all of the British accents, but was a decent coming of age type movie.
Kingdom of Heaven was based on religion so it’s really surprising that I liked it so fucking much. Kind of gruesome and very long, but it has a strong message of morals that I would like every religious person to understand.
Some music you guys need to hear: OneRepublic “Apologize” and Shayne Ward (all of his music).
In other news my aunt Linda is back in the hospital again (was in a nursing home), but on the upside she’s finally out of the halo.

Can I Be Blunt?
Girlfriend Kathy Griffin has something to tell you about your hetero gal pals.
Kathy Griffin
1. We have a little crush on you. We can’t help it.
2. We secretly want you to help our straight boyfriends get in better shape.
3. We like three musicals -- not all musicals.
4. Our pussies do not smell like fish. How would you even know?
5. Thanks for being our prom dates. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have gone.
6. Enough with the tweezed eyebrows. You can call it waxing all you want, but we know it’s tweezing.
7. Tom Cruise is not gay, but Richard Gere definitely had a gerbil up his butt. My cousin’s friend was the nurse that night, and she never lies.
8. If we were gay men, we’d be bears so that we could eat a goddamn carb.
9. Streisand for president, 2008.
10. We love you. We support you. We thank you.

with every turn comes a new frame of mind/if I could frame my mind/where would it hang?
I'm starting to think I treat my life like a newly minted car. Here's why:
Often, I'd rather leave it in the garage instead of taking it out for a spin.
I always to protect what I have instead of enjoying it.
I become obsessed with the slightest blemish and spend too much effort trying to buff it out instead of looking at the big picture.
While I don't mind showing people around, I'm careful about who I let in.
I'd not that I can't go on the offensive if I have no other choice, but usually I'd rather stay off to the side to avoid the risk.
I'm so concerned with running things at the most optimal level, never realizing that, in time, things will fall apart no matter I do.
Whenever I strip everything away and realize what I'm behind the wheel of, I see what a gift I have. But I have to realize that you don't buy a Beamer to sit in the slow lane. I may come out the other side with a few more blemishes, but it's a small price to pay to avoid being stuck in first gear for the rest of my life.

You don't have to read this.
I am uber-depressed. This shit sucks, bitches.
I am still having serious trouble readjusting. I am not going to class, slacking off when I actually am in class, not writing papers until late or not at all...it's like work is the only thing I am doing. And I latch onto that to get me through the day.
It's like after four months of vacation, I can't do anything but be very lazy. It's a good thing I'm not the only one feeling like this or I'd think I was crazy.
I can totally see how that girl who went to France a few years ago dropped out of school and wasn't able to make it through. I just feel like I can't do this. And this is a thousand times easier than being in France.
It's like I can't do life anymore. This is so frustrating.
I went to help with the study abroad orientation and the coordinator of the program asked if any of us were having or had trouble with reverse culture shock. We said yeah and then she asked how bad it was. I said it was just as bad as adjusting to France but it's not. It's much, much worse. I've been home for longer than I was gone and I'm still having trouble. No one cares about my pictures, my stories, I have to work, pay bills, write papers, go to class, be in Michigan, talk to people on a consistent basis.
Oh, and the cat we were going to get died the weekend before we were going to get him.
The end.

We are getting another cat. This girl in my science class has a dairy farm, or her parents do, and they have this indoor cat wandering around getting into trouble. It fell in a bucket of milk already.
He is fixed but still has claws (so does The Baron so it's okay). He will be joining our household on Monday so I am thinking of names.
I want him to have a title like our Baron von Richthofen so I've been going through the presidents.
None of these names can be stolen or your soul is mine etc etc.:
Mewtherford B Hayes (I woke up with this name in my head. I don't know why. It's my favorite by far.)
Mewman Capote or Truman Clawpote or Trumew Capote (He is black and white so it'd fit with Truman Capote's Black and White Ball.)
Mewlysses S Grant (Hannah says I cannot name our cat after this drunk, useless president but the name is too awesome. I promised not to do it unless the cat has a swagger. And even then, only barely. She says Mewtherford B Hayes is better since he fixed all of Mewlysses' mistakes.)
Charles G Paws (While not a president, Charles G Dawes is Hannah's favorite Vice-President so he still has a title. Also, Dawes died in the city I was born in so it's like we're connected already. Also, he looks like Houdini. Seriously. So that makes him ten times awesome.)
Jean-Luc Pawcard (Title: Captain, of course.)
Meowssolini (Title: Dictator)
William Henry Harrison (My favorite president. I think his name can stay as it is.)
Walter Clawncrite (Title: Mr. Awesome)
These I don't have titles for, they're just cat names I have lying around:
Atticus Finch
Rufus
Billy Pilgrim (Billy Pawgrim?)
I'm really leaning toward Mewtherford B Hayes. Nick probably won't like it but he doesn't like The Baron's name either.
I love you all.
P.S. Urgent message from The Baron: "3

The soup turned out okay, I guess. It didn't really taste like anything at all. Well, no. It tasted like a bunch of things but none of them were particularily good or delicious.
It was a decent first try. Especially since I had no idea what I was doing. At all. And I just threw things together.
I think my dad misses me a lot. He said that there are cooking lessons at D&W we can do together and we can go to one of those places where you make a week's worth of meals. His excuse was that Nick mentioned I don't cook but I really know that he misses me a bunch.
